Awesome!
This is an amazing little pan! I recently decided to replace all my non-stick pans in an effort to reduce the chances of ingesting the substances that inevitably start flaking off them, plus in just a few months time I found myself replacing them anyway as they too would all start sticking. Thatâs when I discovered or rediscovered cast iron. I had some cast iron 20 years ago, but never really knew how to use or care for it properly so I would end up with stuck on food or with rust. Fast forward 20 years and this time I took the time to study the best ways to care for cast iron and I am amazed! NOTHING sticks to this pan. It comes preseasoned from Lodge and all I do is wash in hot water (no soap), dry well by placing on the stove burner a few minutes, then wipe a very thin coat of oil on it before storing. Another tip I found is to preheat the pan before cooking rather than just putting cold food into a cold pan to help ensure no sticking. So much better than commercial nonstick!! No worries of flaking, itâs less expensive than many commercial non-stick pans, plus it just keeps getting better and better the more I use it.This mini wok is the perfect size for 2-3 people. Iâve made cauliflower âriceâ stir fry, scrambled eggs and sausage and vegetable stir fry in just the short time Iâve owned it. Iâm looking forward to using it with a multitude of other dishes as well as it easily goes from stove top to oven. The nice thing is itâs really sturdy, but not too heavy for me to handle as the larger woks are. Even though cast iron is inherently heavy, the smaller size of this makes it super manageable. You will need to use a hot pad or silicone holders to move it when hot, but Iâve had no issues with it staying firmly in place on my gas range since it has a flat bottom, so the only time Iâve used my silicone holder is if I wanted to move the pot to the oven or to another location to cool. Generally, though, I just turn off the gas burner and leave it there until it cools, although this might not work as well on an electric stove.I currently own this mini wok, a flat griddle pan and a 10 inch high side frying pan all from Lodge. I love that they are made in the USA and between the three donât see the need for any other cookware except maybe a couple stainless steel pots for boiling things or for soups. Although the shape of this mini wok would work perfectly for those too, they say not to leave acidic things like tomato based foods in cast iron for too long, so I will err on the side of caution because I think this wok will otherwise last a lifetime and will be something I can pass on to my grandchildren. Itâs that awesome!

Great Mini Wok!!
This wok is a thing of beauty. Just the right size if your planning on cooking for 1 or 2 people. You can pretty much cook anything in it and use it as a bowl to eat out of afterwards haha. Just be careful not to burn yourself. Great for stir fry and noodles and works great on an electric stove top. Bottom of the bowl heats fast as well.Quality is in line with other lodge products. You’ll have edges that have been deburred/grinded to remove sharp edges as well as some spots on the handle where the seasoning has not been fully black (Oil dripped off from pan during Lodge’s seasoning process). This is NOT a defect and is part of Lodge’s normal manufacturing process. Rust is not a problem if you’re familiar with taking care of cast iron. If you’re a first time user of cast iron, I’d suggest watching some videos online before giving this wok a bad review.I wish Amazon did a better job of packaging. There’s no insulation of the product whatsoever. The box it came it was mangled because the wok was tossed around inside during shipping. Luckily my wok wasn’t damaged. I’d suggest inspecting your wok after receiving it through Amazon and make sure there’s no cracks or damage.Overall great product and I definitely recommend picking it up. If you’re looking for a rice bowl size wok, Lodge does make a 6″ version. I’m happy with my 9″. Highly satisfied. ð¥

Great for one, good for two.
No-stick cooking, cooks clean, even heat distribution, light enough to easily carry, two handles make it safe. Size is perfect for one person, one dish or one meal and good for two, but tossing room is tight. Makes a great holding bowl for wok meats while vegetables are cooking in a larger wok. Also, a good serving bowl for two to three helpings. Versatile cooking or serving, two handles make all movement safe and balanced, a great size for smaller meals. Very useful. I like mine a lot.

It’s a Lodge
So far so good. I’m loving it for my morning stir fries–putting it directly on top of the largest (gas) stove burner you get it piping hot, and then stir fry your meal. I’ve used it for 4-5 meals since I got it, including the best fried rice I have yet made (the bar was low, don’t worry). It /is/ cast iron, so clean it immediately without soap, and oil after every use. Standard procedure.I find the size to be perfect for single servings for me, as a fairly tall and athletic guy.The bottom does have a flat spot, which traditional woks do not; it doesn’t seem to effect my cooking but YMMV. The only downside in the design is I wish it had an actual long handle instead of two loops. I have to use a pair of tongs to steady it if I am directly on the burner. If it’s on a grate as in the photo, the weight holds it in place just fine.

I got this cute mini-wok used and returned by someone for a low price, so I knew what to expect. It was rusty, with chipped off seasoning in places, its bottom was scratching surfaces it stood on which is a no-no for my ceramic cooktop, etc. In my view, those are minor things, nothing that 15 min of scrubbing with sanding paper and a coat of seasoning oil won’t cure. So, I just did that and the wok is simply perfect. It has a perfect semispherical shape, pitch black and shiny non-stick surface, and it heats up and holds heat very well. I purchased a 9″ domed lid for it separately here, on Amazon. The wok weighs 2.3 kg and its volume is 2L, enough for a soup or a stew for 3 people, or a stir fry and other rice dishes for 2. It is perfect for fried eggs, scrambled eggs and omelets and for steaming food. Nothing sticks to it when I fry or deep fry, of course, but I am not new to cast iron either. I don’t fry that much, so I won’t use it daily, but I definitely fell in love with its beauty and performance. Well done, Lodge! Well done.

For those of you wondering if this mini wok is really an authentic Lodge product – yes it is. It came with the Lodge label and the Lodge logo stamped right into the bottom of the wok (see pictures). It’s a tiny wok – the top measures 6 inches, so it’s about the size of a soup bowl.If you’re buying it to make a stir-fry for one, it’s not going to work because there isn’t enough room to stir without everything flying out of the pan. However, this tiny wok is perfect for what I wanted it for: Making a small meatloaf for 1 – 2 people and baking a small loaf of bread in the oven.Like all Lodge products, it’s top quality and pre-seasoned but you still need to hand wash it with warm soapy water and season it yourself before using it. That means that after you wash it and dry it well, you rub some oil all over it – inside and out – wipe excess off with a paper towel – and put it in a 350 oven for 1 hour. And you’ll want to do this once a month or so for maintenance which helps build up a nice non-stick coating over time. Also, the more you cook in it, the better it gets. Just like any cast-iron pan.

I got this for making hoppers, for which it is useless, but it is super cute and would be great for one person wok dishes.

Lodge cast iron pan is good but you need to take care of it. It should be washed and dried and then lightly oiled or else rust forms and you make think the product is not good. I love using this mini wok
