    GAME CHANGER!
    Ive been making homemade pizza for years in my oven. While it’s been delicious, it has always seemed like it was missing that pizza joint quality. I did my research and was on the fence between the 1/2” steel, Hexclad pizza pan and this lodge pizza tray. I decided to go with the Lodge since I already have one of their skillets and it has been fantastic. I also chose the Lodge because it is 4 times less than the other two.I received it last night and used it to make pizzas for lunch today. I am absolutely floored at how amazing the pizza dough turned out. Cooked the pizza in 4 minutes at 550°. The top wasn’t quite as brown as I like so for the second pizza I heated the oven to 550°, then turned on the broiler and allowed the Lodge to cook the dough while the broiler took care of the cheese on top. Crust came out sturdy golden brown on the bottom. Super crisp light and airy around the edges.As far as the quality, it is cast iron and very sturdy and it is larger in person than I expected. The surface was smoother than I thought it was going to be which was really nice as well. Cleanup is easy enough with hot water and a little gentle scrubbing.I sincerely can’t say enough about how great this was after only one pizza making session.

    Very Versatile
    I’ve been getting rid of my old cookware and investing in cast iron replacements, and Lodge is the brand I go to.I was lucky in the item arrived with the handles still attached, as others have noted, they sometimes break off in shipping.A very nice piece, but like with all Lodge products, it’s inexpensive because it’s not well finished. The surface is rough, there are grinding marks on the sides in some parts, and the molding seams stick out from the sides of the handles and the inside parts as well.So I stripped off the seasoning with oven cleaner and sanded down the entire piece, save for the indents on the bottom, and filed down the seams and grinding marks, then re-seasoned it. Now it looks much better and makes far less scraping noises when using a metal spatula on it, not to mention it is more comfortable to pick up and carry. My $40 pan now looks like it cost twice that.Perfect for pizzas and anytime you want to make a large batch of something, be it biscuits, homemade tortillas, roasting vegetables, pancakes, etc.If you have a two or four burner burner stove, the item is so large it will sit on two burners, which means if you are making homemade tortillas you can have two ‘sides’ of the pan with two different temperatures.I’m looking forward to taking this car camping.

    Lodge is all we will ever buy….. made in the USA with the highest grade iron. This pan is thicker and higher quality than ones made in China. This pan is amazing for making pizza…..

    Yes it’s heavy but anything of good quality is. I havemany cast iron pots/ pans and know quality- this makes great pizza, bread, anything! I finally make a crispy crust when I make my own pizza! I purchased this after my pizza stone cracked- I figured for under $40 this was going to be ok- I love it! It’s big enough for pizza, bread and anything else! Preheat in oven before you put pizza on it for best results! I follow directions for care. It’s great!

    Makes the best pizza
    I bought this to replace my Pampered chef pizza stone which I accidentally exploded one day when I set it on a hot burner which I forgot to turn off. (lucky I was out of the room when it happened) I was sad at the time since I had that stone a long time but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This pan is HEAVY. It is huge. You can easily put an XL take n bake on it and it fits. But the best part is how beautifully it cooks. I took others recommendations and preheat the pan in the oven when I preheat it. I slide the pizza from a peel onto this hot iron and set the timer for 15 minutes and add time as needed after that. I use the peel to take it back out again, cut and serve from there. The crust comes out crisp without the top getting overcooked. I have also used this for cooking other items like breads and snacks since I pretty much just store it in the oven.

    Perfect for pizza
    If you like crisp crust pizza, this is the pan for you. I’ve been on a quest to find a pan to make pizza with a crisp crust. After trying regular metal, pizza stone, and now cast iron I’ve found the winner. Metal doesn’t get hot enough, pizza stones take way to long to heat and they’re fragile. Cast iron is sturdy, heats up fast and holds the heat. The biggest drawback for cast iron is the weight, but it’s totally worth it as far as I’m concerned.

    It is well made. We love Lodge cast-iron. To heavy
    you cannot go wrong buying Lodge cast iron. I wanted a pizza pan. We make a lot of our own pizza. This is a big heavy I do not like the short handles on the pan, because of this we will not be using it a lot. It did make a good pizza, no sticking at all. I hope to find a smaller one, i think it would be easy to use. Last many years if you take the time to clean it oil it. Just to big , heavy, handles are to short for the pan itself.

    Good baking stone and lefse griddle
    If you make lefse, you know you need a griddle with a flat edge to slide the dowel in perfectly flat. Just don’t try making something greasy like bacon, there’s no edge so the grease would be a fire hazard! This works wonderfully on a gas burner. Also great for baking bread/pizza. We will try for tortillas and naan too should be perfect.

    Excelente producto, estuve buscando una piedra para pizza para mi Master touch de 22” pero la de la marca Weber es básicamente para una mini-pizza, la de green egg no la pude conseguir entonces opté por conseguir algo de hierro y encontré esta opción. Es de muy buen material y queda perfecto en el weber de 22”, las pizzas salen super ricas!

    vraiment lourd mais c’est ce qui le rend qualitatif et fait que la chaleur se propage d’une manière homogène. par ailleurs, le cullotage est nécessaire car risque de rouille et que la nourriture accroche , moi j’ai pas ces problème car après chaque utilisation je rince avec de l’eau claire puis je remets sur le feu pour sécher en remettant de l’huile à la fin quand c’est bien chaud et sec puis je range et à la prochaine utilisation je remets sur le feu en remettant de l’huile et en essuyant avec un torchon propre .
