It’s hard finding cookware. Not only have to look for size, durability but now safety. When I saw this pan was made in Germany, I knew it would be safe, their safety regulation are much more strict than ours. It is beautiful, safe and feels durable. It came with a full size screwdriver, too. I had to try it out, so I made some cheesy eggs. They came out perfectly, and no sticking, even the cheese. To say I’m happy is an understatement. I hope Amazon will make more European made products available.

lightweight, easy to clean
I usually prefer cast iron frying pans but I was willing to try something new. This pan is very lightweight. It comes with the wooden handle un-attached but the screw and a screwdriver are provided. I’m guessing this is purely a packing choice.The pan has a diamond like pattern on the bottom, but that didn’t seem to affect the texture of the food. My eggs didn’t have diamonds on them. They also didn’t stick. Easy to clean. Can do the whole soap and water or merely wipe it out depending on what its being used for.I was concerned about even heat due to the light weight. No need to worry. It heated evenly, which any chef or cook will tell you is important. If you’re looking for a multi-purpose skillet and want to try something new, I highly recommend giving this a try. Chances are you won’t be disappointed.

Lightweight, even heat distribution
When I received this pan I was surprised how light it is. It does distribute heat across its surface relatively well, and thus heats very quickly. So this pan is ideal for cooking eggs or other low weight foods for which you will need a non-stick surface.Longevity of the non-stick surface is unknown, though it appears thick.The cross-hatched surface appears puzzling, though it does work well to release items from sticking, and provided the ‘granite’ coating endures, is an interesting means to keep non-stick and easy to clean.Note that this pan, being of a low thermal mass, means lower heat capacity, so that when you add a significant amount of food to a hot pan, the pan cools quickly, so you will need to wait for the pan to regain temperature.This pan does require assembly. You will need to join the handle with a small shield part with a single screw. A phillips screwdriver is provided.The only downside is that with the good packaging of the item, Amazon did not need to encase the carton in their carton, with crushed paper. Too much wasted packaging, but that is not the fault of this item.
