Advertised as a Bread knife, Itâs Not
Advertised as a read knife, itâs not. The teeth are almost nonexistent ⦠might be good for something but for cutting bread it is useless.

Elegant Looks With Poor Performance
This KitchenAid knife has an appealing design and is made of black ceramic which I normally think of as being razor sharp with a highly durable edge. This knife is described as a six inch ceramic bread knife. The blade is concave with serrations formed into one sside of the edge.My first test was to try to slice a bagel. I gave it up because it took too much sawing or too high a pressure to try to get through the bagel. My old KitchenAid bread knife , with serrated, stainless steel edge, bit right into the bagel and made fast work of slicing it. This new, ceramic knife even had to struggle with pumpkin bread. It had too much “drag” sticking to the bread as it passed through. It may work well on Italian or French bread or crusty bread with soft interiors, but that’s about all I can see using it for. The knife comes with a fitted plastic slip case to protect it in storage. KitchenAid has better knifes for slicing breads.

Glides right through the chewiest crusts
KitchenAid Classic Cermaic Bread KnifeBecause ceramic knives were pretty expensive for quite a while and required more careful usage than steel, I only had a couple of them which I used for special applications, like fruits and vegetables. Since their prices have fallen pretty dramatically for the past several years I’ve been slowly acquiring more. I hadn’t considered a ceramic bread knife prior to seeing this one but, given that it is extremely affordable, I thought I’d try it. After using it on some homemade bread and bagels, I’m really glad I got it. It’s got a comfortable feel and cuts through bread ridiculously easy. It’s sharp enough that you can cut the softest bread without mashing it at all and you can also cut very thin slices if you need to. Make sure you use a suitable cutting board; personally, I prefer HDPE with ceramic blades. Highly recommend.

El cuchillo es de muy buena calidad, el diseño es práctico y se ve genial. Es muy buen cuchillo para rebanar panes suaves, pero es pésimo para rebanar panes rústicos o de costra.
