PLAN AHEAD
Plan Ahead for when you will want toast because this toaster is slow. I purchased by brand name because KitchedAid mixers last forever and my other brand toasters have not. This KitchenAide looks nice and is simple to use it’s just a little slower than I would like. Otherwise, it is fine. Features include self-centering racks, a Bagle option that mostly toasts the center, of course, temperature control, quick release, a cord holder underneath, and a removable crumb tray.

Great looking 2 slice toaster. Works well, toasts evenly. Fits bagels. I wish the lever to push down the bread felt more sturdy, it has a springy-bouncy action that feels like it may break easy, but so far so good.

Doesn’t Last – Burns toast
Well, this toaster wasn’t great to begin with. The very lowest setting (#1) stilled nearly burned my toast at first. After about a year of use, the lowest setting cooled a bit and could be used. However, every setting was inconsistent and you really didn’t know between a 1, 2 , or 3 what you were going to get. Possibly something hardly toasted, possibly something almost charred. This was very frustrating. Now, after exactly 18 months, the lever has stopped working so it doesn’t hold down and doesn’t turn the toaster on. For several weeks prior it had stopped holding down for long and began popping up prematurely, after only 10/20 seconds or so. Now it never stays down. I called Kitchenaid customer service and they said the only trouble shooting is to try another outlet, and clean out the crumb tray, which I had already done. They only offer a 1 year warranty, so there is nothing to be done but throw it away and buy a new toaster. It’s absolutely nuts that I bought this as an upgrade to the trusty $30 toaster from Target which had lasted me 15 years. Boooooooo.

Doesnât toast both sides and also beeps
Just received, and looks ok, but first experiment, only one side of the bread was toasted! How? Toasters have been around for a long time and itâs supposed to be a top brand. Also, it beeps when finished and you canât turn it off. Just annoying to have all our appliances beeping.

Maybe I got a lemon but the lever handle is hard to press. The whole toaster jumps when I try to push the lever so it stays on. Otherwise nice and solid build but this issue is extremely annoying.

can’t really get the toast right as your first toast most likely will be to light and if you make a second round of toast because the unit is warmed up. Your toast will be to dark
