Great for People Who Have Counter Cats
I got this because I was tired of waiting for the stove to cool down when I made tea. I would have to stick the kettle in the oven to cool down in case one of my cats decided to counter cruise while it was still too hot. Now this electric kettle is insulated so the outside stays cool to comfortably warm! and once I have boiled water i just unplug and push into a corner so the plug is hidden from tempted young paws. PLUS it is a Kitchen Aid so quality is there. Very happy with purchase and i do recommend this, cat people!

Bought as a gift for a tea drinker
I was visiting a friend and she was running her husband keurig multiple times to rinse coffee out of it to make herself teas. Ordered this as a gift for her and sheâs loving it. Color is a nice deep red, true to photos. Boils quickly, perfect gift.

The good -1. The interior of the kettle (the parts that are in contact to water) is all stainless steel.2. Boils water quickly. It took about 8 minutes for the water to boil with the kettle filled to the max level indicator.3. Easy to clean. The top opening is wide enough for access for interior cleaningThe not so good1. the exterior shell is not metal. So water will not keep hot for very long if left in the kettle after boil.So far I really like this kettle and would recommend it.

Auto shut off doesnât work
Iâve had this for less than a year and the auto shut off just stopped working. Part of the problem is that the lid isnât entirely closed and I noticed that if I push down on the lid, it will shut off. In addition operating the lid mechanism is a pain in the butt.I expected something more reliable from KitchenAid

Big and beautiful with some drawbacks
Likes: all stainless steel on the inside. No plastic parts that come into contact with the water.Dislikes: double walled but not double wall insulated. The inside is metal. The outside is plastic. This keeps you from burning yourself and probably provides some extra insulation but itâs not double wall vacuum insulated like a thermos.Another con. My kettle continues at a full boil for almost a minute before shutting off. See my video. Wish it turned off sooner.Two last cons. The on/off switch feels a bit cheap and I predict itâll snap off one day when someone accidentally bumps itâs wrong. The button that opens the lid isnât very snappy.All in all. It looks great and it boils water. But itâs still mostly plastic except for the inside.
