My wife got us a set of 3 Kitchen Aid plastic mixing bowls around 2009. They were cheaply made, pretty thin plastic, and the rings on the bottom came off and had to be re-glued. I wasn’t a fan, but I figured they would eventually wear out and I’d get some better ones then. Now we’re finally down to 1 of the 3.I was about to buy us some nice stainless mixing bowls, but my wife was really fond of the old bowls (why???). I saw this set of 5 Kitchen Aid in pistachio. Most people probably wouldn’t care for the color, but we have dark green tile and countertops in our kitchen and the bowls’ color matches some of the highlights. And I knew she loved the old bowls for whatever irrational reason, so I ordered these for her sake mostly.Unboxed them yesterday and I have to say I was impressed! Having 5 bowls of graduating size is obviously more utilitarian than the 3 we had, but beyond that these are MUCH better made. The plastic is thicker and there’s a lip at the top of the bowl. I can see now I am going to be perfectly happy with these.Yeah, I know. Being this excited about mixing bowls is a sign of how old I’ve gotten!

Because I am getting older I was finding it difficult to manage my mixing bowls that I have had for forty years. These bowls are not flimsy at all and are very sturdy but the best part is they are light weight and easy to handle with my semi arthritic hands. I am very pleased with my purchase. Love this set. They are affordable and great quality. Good assortment of sizes and easy to clean. I especially love that the quantities are marked on the bottom in both metric and imperial measures. I wish they werenât green but love them anyway
