As good as any expensive knife
No need to spend $100+ on Cutco or the others. This knife comes sharp and stays sharp. My wife loves it!

Great Starter Knives
Full transparency I bought these as a gift for a friend, so this is kind of sencond hand information. However I had a similar set of kitchenAid knives for over 8 years and loved them! donated them to a friend who had only a single chefs knife his mom gave him when he moved out on his own 20 years ago, that I am sure was forged at blacksmith in midevil Europe. Basically it sucked and I wanted new ones. Anyhoo, so these guys different friend needed knives birthday rolled around ordered these for them. its been a few months now and they love them. They use them almost daily, I have used them there a few times and they perform just as well as my original set. the built in honer is great for begginers taking the guess work out of using a honing rod, the block is nice and sturdy and the blades hold up very well to consistent use. Although I think its a crime they top shelf these in the dishwasher and so far no rust spots or fading in the handles. Highly recommend these knives if your a casual cooker, begginer, or want a buddy set so people don’t touch your set if your like me and hate it when people use your knives.

A decent knife but they grey one is much better
We got this based on our utilization of the other 5 inch santoku from Kitchenaid. We decided on the black handle so that they’d be easy to tell apart. They are. Although the blade on both appears to be almost the same, the handle on the grey one is substantially better. This one feels plastic-y, and while the other is plastic it’s a better grade with a smoother integration into the knife overall. This knife is pleasant to use, but for the couple of bucks difference I’d certainly recommend the other one which is on Amazon as well instead.

kitchenaide santoku 5″ blade
I know, I know. It’s a cheap knife. But I will tell you, I purchased this to replace kitchenaide santoku knife I’ve had for about 15 years before the handle finally gave out. My husband kept together for many years – but she just gave out. That’s a pretty long run and it was a knife I used daily. I always handwash my blades. It also kept an edge. I have high hopes for this one. But it was a fair price so if I have to replace it I will. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item – your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. As a top 30 reviewer, I’ve been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon – over 6,200 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 28,000 likes. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for all my stuff, just like you do – with hard earned dollars.

Excellent for Camping.
This line of knives are perfect for the camp kitchen. Protective cover works for both protecting the blade as well as your fingers during transport. Handle has good weight for balance and comfortable using a pinch grip. Good value for the money. The only drawback is the steel is meh, hones to a sharp edge but does not hold it forever. Unless you are preparing food for a whole platoon, this knife will fit the bill.

Quality has gone down significantly
I had previously bought this knife 3 years ago. It’s not a high end, professional chef’s knife or anything, just a good workhorse to do basic chopping and cutting. So, when I needed another knife to use at a second home for the exact same purpose, I figured I’d buy this knife again. The second knife is was lightweight and flimsy. The blade is thin and has already begun corroding. I wasn’t expecting the same quality as a $500 Wusthoff or Henckels – just the same quality as the previous KitchenAid knife I paid the same price for.The first knife I would have rated 4-stars (for the money, it was a good buy). The second one for which I’ve written this review is 1-star at best. Even for the price I paid, I’m disappointed. I would have expected consistent quality with something branded KitchenAid.

Para mi gusto son muy ligeros, les falta peso como las otras versiones de la misma marca, parecerÃan imitación, no se, pero parecen baratos
