Getting used to the temp controls.
After our last Kitchen-aid toaster bit the dust (after 20 years) I tried finding the same type, but this is the closest I got. This has more plastic or rubber parts, which I found disappointing, but that seems to be the way things are going. The temp controls: putting it on one, toasts it perfectlyâ¦.idk what the higher numbers are for, as when I first tried a 3, it burnt to a crisp. Setting it at 2 also burned it, just not enough to start a fire. This toaster also has a bagel setting, though Iâm not sure the difference. It doesnât seem to make it wider to use, so maybe itâs just me.Also, the crumb catcher is in the back, so you have to pull it out to clean that part.Overall, I think I just need to get used to this better, after being used to their older model for so many years. Kitchen-Aid does makes great products, of which we have many, and they have a fantastic return and exchange policy if you register your product. I appreciate a company that has a zero hassle return/exchange policy, and their customer service reps have always been great to deal with.I know I listed a lot of negatives, but for positives, it is super easy to use. It has a cancel button to stop the toasting and also to pop it back up. Once Iâm better used to it, I think itâll be just fine. One last thing: the numbers for how long you want it to toast are very small, and my hubs has a hard time seeing them. My vision is fine, and to me, they also seem small and light. Iâd recommend Kitchen-Aid made the numbers bolder so theyâre easier to see for aging people and even those with great vision.I def have confidence in this brand, so Iâm not concerned if any issues pop up.

Sloooooow
So far so good. However, it is the slowest toaster I have ever owned.
