I picked this up because I wanted a compact knife set that I could use while in my campervan. One problem I have with many knives is that the handle is just not comfortable to use. I like the “feel” of these knives and the holder for all of them. I thought that the knives in the holder took up too much room in my drawers so I have it propped up on the kitchen counter and I have not had any fall out of the block.

At the price of really good knives these days, these are a bargain at about $60 for five knives and a block to store them. Take the coupon off, and it’s a really good price. These knives are sharp, shiny and pretty out of the box. They have a sleek design that looks nice in the block and I like the shape of the handle. It is comfortable to hold and esthetically pleasing. The blades are sharp. However, after washing them before using, one of the blades had a rust spot on it that was surprising as they were not submerged for long in water. It came off with some scrubbing with steel wool, but I’ve never had that happen with any other knives I’ve owned so are these going to hold up long term as long as I don’t let them sit dirty or in dishwater for longer than a few minutes? Time will tell. As for performance, they work beautifully. The cut, slice, chop like good sharp knives should. I really like them out of box, the look, the feel, the performance. But I don’t like that rust spot appearing so quickly. At least I know they’re steel. For this price, I would recommend and I would suggest washing and drying them right after using.
