how in god’s name is it so cheap
Considering how cheap these knives are, they are a miracle. The wood is decent, and so is the steel. The chef knife performs like a chef knife should. Thin tomato slices and all that. I don’t know if the steel will remain in shape, but I’m wildly impressed with the decent quality of the set. Makes me worry about the people who work in the factory… but otherwise I have nothing bad to say.

Don’t skip over these due to price
I almost didn’t buy this knife set due to its extremely low price. How could a complete set of knives be any good at this price point, I asked myself. I decided to give them a try as our much more expensive “Chicago Cutlery” set was breaking down after 4-5 years of light use. Upon opening the box and handling the knives for the first time, I was very surprised and impressed with the heft, weight and balance of each one. Compared to our old ones, these felt like a $400+ set. I then assumed they wouldn’t cut very well, wrong. After hand cleaning them (recommended by the manufacturer), I cut a very ripe tomato with perfection. We have had this set now for a number of weeks and can’t imagine going back to our old set, even if it was new. These knives are that good. There are a few small caveats to note. First, the openings in the storage block aren’t exactly uniform, which can cause the knives to rest slightly out of alignment. This isn’t a bother for us, but could be for those looking for a perfect presentation on their counter. Second, the angle that the knives rest at are more vertical and require pulling nearly straight up to remove the longer pieces. We had stored our old set under the upper cabinets, but can’t remove the longer pieces as the handle comes in contact with the bottom of our cabinets before it is completely removed. Relocating our block fixed this issue, but I would have like to have been aware of it before ordering. Longevity is unknown, but if they last a year, I’ll break even compared to our old set. Based on how they look and feel, I expect many years of service.

These knives are super super sharp
Be extremely careful when unboxing and using these knives. They are extremely sharp. They are easy to use and they cut like going through hot butter. Easy to clean and the block is decent. The handles are okay. I like a little bit bigger handles but these are fine. Overall I am impressed with the product considering the price. They are not a high end set of knives but the quality is far better than I originally expected. Iâve been using them for a month or two and have not needed to sharpen any of them. I have another more expensive set that seems to constantly need sharpening. No regrets.

Do Not Dishwash, Do Not Air-Dry
I was very picky when searching for knives that I liked the look of, felt would hold up over time (I’ve had rivets and wood handles fail miserably on me) and were sharp.These knives are all three. Everything feels super solid and their edges remain in excellent condition with very minimal sharpening.Mine still look in exceptional condition, but I will say: do not put any knives in the dishwasher (this goes for all knives, not just these) and hand dry (as opposed to letting them air dry). They’ll get very visible water spots on them if you don’t. They come off, mind you (just wash them again). I’m not sure the water spots affect the functionality/quality at all, but if you want them to look pristine 100% of thr time, just run both sides backwards over a towel and put them back in the block. Easy peasy.

Well worth the $29 spent picked up a set from Walmart for $20 and the handle came off the knife just goes to show you get what you pay for when I purchase these the intent was to have rivets in the handles upon opening the knives I found that the knives are razor Sharp be careful cleaning the knives for the first time don’t run sponge or hands near blade or you will surely cut yourself excellent deal would buy again

ABS-Handle – Black Block
I rarely leave a review, good or bad. The product has to be either really bad or really good. In this case, this knife set is excellent. They are sharp, well made, and heavy. This knife set, ABS-Handle, black block, cost a little more, but the blades are heavy steel and thick. And the scissors are heavy duty, I’ve not seen scissors like this before. But do be careful with them. For the price, it would be hard to find a better knife set.
