Long lasting, tall, microwave plate cover
We bought our first one back in 2018 and it has lasted great! We just bought another one for our family vacation condo because they just work and are nice and tall. You can have a decent size bowl or plate with a good amount of food in it and it shouldn’t touch the cover which was always a problem with all the short covers we have tried. It’s made of thick silicone which shows no signs of wear after years of use and dishwasher cleanings. We don’t use the little steam plug so it’s easier to remove, but the few times we tried it it sealed to our microwaves glass turntable very well. All in all, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a taller, durable, easy to clean microwave plate cover.

This is a great cover, especially since you can make it the height you want or need to cover your food. From tall dome to almost flat, it can cover your food safely. It is silicone, so no plastic in the microwave. There is a hole in the top with a silicone plug – which can be removed to allow steam to escape. It is large enough to cover a 10-11 inch dinner plate. One proviso – it is a little floppy, but it will keep the shape that you want it when you collapse it. I am getting a second one so that while one is in the dishwasher, I have a clean replacement ready to go. Very happy with this item.

Pros: Silicone, BPA free, tall and wide enough to fit over almost anything, no funky smell. The handle is helpful for lifting and it’s easy to clean by hand (I haven’t put it in the dishwasher yet). Most importantly, it does the job of keeping the microwave clean. YES!Cons: This thing doesn’t really fold down because the sides tend to “pop.” This isn’t a big deal to me, however. I wish it had one or two more steam holes, but it functions fine as is. Like other reviewers mentioned, it does suction to the microwave plate. Just be gentle lifting it and you should be fine. If this could be fixed, it would be perfect.Overall, I’m happy with the purchase!

I read reviews that complained about heat burns. You are using this product in the kitchen. Caution must be used as with any kitchen product, especially involving heat!!I found the vent hole sufficient. No need to make another.The handle on top allows one to remove the cover after use and breaks the suction that occurs during the heating/cooking process.Large enough for my everyday dishes, both height and width! This is important. My husband bought the plastic covers again, but they are small compared to this.To collapse, simply place on counter and push down in the middle. Very easy.I read about the pinch test and I am not convinced that these are not high quality silicone.Iâve had these for a month and love them. I hope they hold up well, because I paid more for this product, believing I wouldnât have to outlay more money anytime soon. Youâll hear back from me if this changes.âwife

Prevents splatters!
I definitely recommend this plate cover! It completely covers our plates to prevent splattering and is good quality. It measures 11″ across at the base. For our smaller plates, it sits on the turntable, and for our larger plates, it sits on the edge of the plate. I love that it can collapse for easy storage and that it’s easy to clean. It’s a good value and worth it to prevent messes!

Works okay
This unit does the job it was designed for. The main problem is that the flexible silicon rim sticks to the countertop when it is placed rim-down. The other problem is that it is sometimes hard to flatten the unit. I would not order this unit again, as I have used other ones that do not have the problems.

This thing is really damn good
Alright, first of all I’d give this 4 1/2 stars. There is one slight annoyance with it, but still, I looked through all the reviews on amazon and after using it I believe this is the best overall option. The minor annoyance is that you basically have to make a large hole in it to vent the steam or it will stick on things and there will be too much hot steam when you take it off and it will also make the food too hot quicker than normal. Anyhow, if you want it to be 5 stars you need to make a hole. Mine came out really ugly as the material isn’t suited for making holes in. That being said after that it works perfectly. The silicone shouldn’t be toxic since it can withstand high temperatures, its super easy to clean — splatters just melt right off with a quick rinse even with they look stuck on. It covers basically any bowl or plate, and it keeps your microwave clean! I got it because cleaning the microwave is awful and annoying. I never want to to do it again, and with this thing I shouldn’t have to!Update: I just wanted to say this thing is still great 2 years later. It’s really easy to clean as well. The hole I made at the top of it is a bit ugly though. I’d consider giving this 4 star because they really should have include holes for ventilation. I don’t know why they wouldn’t have. But it’s still a game changed for me to rarely have to clean the microwave anymore. And when I do it’s generally pretty easy — it’s usually just the glass turntable that needs to be cleaned.
