They seem heavy duty but not overly heavy in weight, just well made.The chrome was bright & shiny, not dull at all.I really like the versatility of the tongs in that they are solid on one side which makes scooping up small salad goodies such as seends & berries much easier. They could also be used to grab fruit such as cubed Watermelon w/o scooping the juice or sliced Cucumber salad without its juice.Overall, I think these were a great purchase & I’ll be happy with them as tongs for our wedding food.
