Nice little “safety” opener. Manual operation with a push button release. Works well once you get used to it but the lid can be tricky to release. Small size works great in my tiny kitchen, it uses about 1/4 of space as a regular mechanical can opener. Cute color. Good value. Would be a great item for college dorms or camping

After looking around a bit, I found this style and read the review, so I decided to give it a try. This can opener works great for lefties! Itâs easy to use and cuts the can clean. Does not Work well at all or the way it should.
This is very useless. It doesn’t work, no matter which way I turn it. When it does start to work, after going part way around the lid, it stops working and won’t move anymore. I have to try using it the opposite way, but to no avail. To me, this is not worth the effort, and has found it’s way to the back of a drawer.

This can opener doesnât take much room and opens on the side of cans so you can use the top as a lid afterwards if you want to.This will be going in my camping gear pack.

Cannot open a can
Bought this can opener based on its small size and good review. Tried to open a can before packing it for my trip and found this can opener cannot open the can I put it to open. Upon inspecting, I found the blade sits below the can seal (a ridge at the rim of the can protruding about 1 mm from the body of the can) where the blade supposedly to sit on and make the cut. The blade is overhanging that cannot make a cut. I have a can opener of the same design (cut the side of can seal, not the top of the can) I have used for the past 25 years so I am quite familiar with this type of can opener. This can opener can be a good tool if the manufacturer has a quality control.

Ok, so I was skeptical of this at first, but decided to give it a try as it was a “warehouse deal”. It was more expensive by a couple dollars than the traditional can opener but since those ones seem to break easily, I figured no harm done. It arrived quickly, within the window. Of course, at that point, we had no can needing opening to give it a try, so yes, the next day I actually specifically made lunch based around needing to open a can! Well, once I figured out how it works (took all of 5 seconds for my brain to function), I was amazed at how easy it was and how well it worked. This thing is compact but efficient. Took the top off completely with no jagged edges or juice spilling out of the can. Magnet held the lid until I used the button to release it. I really love this thing, and I love the design of it. One thing is, I wouldn’t put this in your drawer if you have kids like mine who are always playing with kitchen stuff as the blades are exposed underneath but just like a regular can opener so you just have to be cautious. Really smooth and easy to use. I do not have any mobility issues, so I am not sure how it would work for someone with joint or hand pain or anything, but for me it is great. I hope it lasts. Much easier than the traditional ones with the thing you have to turn. This feels more ergonomic.
