I use them to snatch my canning jars out of the boiling water. Then tip to drain. Perfect design for my use

The metal seems to be good quality
The metal doesnât bend, and seem to be of good quality, but the joint is a bit wobbly. That doesnât matter for nearly anything that they would be used for, though.The tips donât actually touch except for a point at one corner at the top. That shouldnât matter with the best majority of things, either.The cushion on the handles means they donât get hot even when you are using them around ovens and stoves. Thatâs definitely a point in their favor, and they are also more comfortable to hold. Overall a fairly good product.

Handy in the kitchen
Produce arrived pronto to replace a set of tongs I got when first married over fifty years ago. These are chrome, so should not eventually rust as the old ones did, and the wrapped jaws will be gentler when lifting eggs out of boiling water., meat from browning oil, etc.

Difficult to use
The metal surface around the axle where two halves rotate is very rough so trying to open and close the tongs is difficult. I don’t think this is by design, it’s just cheap metal that was roughly processed and has a coarase texture.There’s almost no angle between the handles and the pivoting point so you have to bring the handles completely together to bring the tong tips together. That means way less leverage is available and more force is needed to pick things up. All they needed to do was bend the handles outward a little, seems like a strange thing to overlook.Because of this if you have small hands this is OK, but if you have big hands it’s difficult to use.The tongs are functional but look and feel really cheap in person. I will not be surprised if these break or rust within a few months.

Cheaply made Junk
Really cheaply made. I bought two, both were bad for different reasons and returned them both immediately. One was joined so loose the tongs didn’t line up and it was impossible to pick small pieces of food. The other was so tight you needed two hands to open and close them. Unlike every other pair of tongs, this pivot/hinge could not be adjusted. It looked like a bent nail from the 1800s jammed into the hole instead of a bolt or rivet.

I’ve ordered the 8 inches angle tong and received the 10 inches tong.It’s very stiff and I don’t like it at all. I would like to get a refund but I have to pay $7.19 shipping fee.I’m a prime member and shouldn’t have to pay such an amount for the return (shipping).
