Five stars for this as a block cheese knife.
This is a case of the “who knew?”. After returning the poorly made M&G cheese knife I bought this on a hunch based on it’s thinness and shape. IT WORKS SURPRISINGLY WELL. I’m sure it’ll cut bread as well, but it makes paper thin slices of semi-soft block cheeses with relative ease, and release nicely. Hint: don’t cut to the right as you would bread, but hold the knife sideways with two hands (like a rolling pin) and cut in front of you. This way (assuming right-handed) the natural tendency of the knife is to pull away from the block and not dig in. Within a few cuts you’ll have it down.

Good solid knife, but BE CAREFUL
This is a great bread knife. I usually don’t like Henckels, knives, but this one is sturdy and strong, and sharp (yes, I did nick my thumb in the first day, but all knives demand a baptism). But watch out for that totally exposed and razor-sharp heel, it really could use a guarding bolster to protect the unaware (like me that one time …)
