Five Stars for Sure, But . . .
These are excellent knives. I strongly recommend them. They’re sturdy and sharp as heck. For the price, they’re a great value. You’ll be very happy if you buy them.I added “But . . .” to my headline for two reasons:1) They’re lighter weight than one might expect. If you have guests, they’ll know that these were inexpensive knives. (But they won’t care because the knives are excellent.)2) Their greatest strength, besides their sturdiness, is that they’re incredibly sharp. If you have any cutting habits in which you let the knife’s edge reach your hands or fingers, these knives will quickly bring it to your attention. For the first week I had them, I was cutting myself all over the place. They go through human flesh like a hot knife through butter. You really have to change your behavior if you’re used to duller knives.But it’s a joy to cut through things that were formerly difficult to cut through.The manufacturer tries to discourage washing them in a dishwasher, but lots of people do (I asked a question about this and got lots of answers). I wash them in my dishwasher. Maybe over time I’ll learn why the manufacturer discourages it, but they seem completely dishwasher friendly to me. The manufacturer makes some note about how if a knife handle touches a hot dishwasher heating element, the handle could melt, so if your silverware ever touches your dishwasher heating element when it’s extremely hot, then I guess that’s a reason to avoid the dishwasher.

Really good knives, bargain priced, but I might return them
An irrational headline? Here’s the deal: for the right person I think they’re great, but maybe not for me. So it would be wrong to downgrade the rating based on that.My purpose: all-purpose, daily knives. Knives to spread stuff onto bread as well as chopping carrots and cutting meat at the table. Then there’s only one knife to wash for a meal (call me Mr. Efficiency). Pointy blades don’t work well for getting stuff out of a jar, so it needs to be round-tip.Pros: the blade is perfect for my purpose–love it. And the price is fantastic.Cons: yes, they clearly have a cheap feel to them, as everyone else here has said. But for the price you can’t complain. What I’m uncomfortable with is the handles. Too short, too narrow, too thin, and the concave channel is uncomfortable. The concave channel provides a place to press your thumb OR your 4 fingers for stability (thumb position is more natural) but my moderate arthritis doesn’t like the pressure on the thumb. And the size is too small for my man-sized hands. I prefer a large, convex handle, for all of my fingers to grasp. Compare the handle of this knife to what’s on my old steak knives (see photo). The old ones feel *much* more comfortable. But I can imagine someone with smaller hands and no arthritis being just fine with these.

I was originally attracted to these knives because of the pastel colors which would accent nicely on the dinner table. I love these knives they are surrogated but sharp. Lightweight. They do not rust at all. I love the rounded tip. Highly recommend good for everyday use. I bought another set after my first purchase because I was very satisfied with this product. Now I have eight of them.

Work really well, totally dishwasher safe
Lower cost steak knife that slices well without that sawing or tearing thru a steak. And have run about 10 dishwasher cycles and no rust. So price and performance I’d say 5 star (this is my second set of knives)

Safe in the sense that they have no sharp point, but their serrated blade cuts fine. Good for everyday use.

These Haushof steak knives are excellent. Some knives have the serrated edge only on one side but these knives it is on both sides. They are lightweight but very sharp and easily cut steak. The rounded tip is much safer too. The handle is comfortable as well. We have tried other expensive knives and they did not impress us. These knives we are totally satisfied with and we highly recommend them.
