Love the Look
The retro feel of this kettle, coupled with the perfect color to nearly match vintage Jadeite coffee mugs, makes this a perfect addition to our office space – inside a historic building with other vintage decor.

Beautiful kettle.
Easy to use, beautifully designed. A kettle is something one uses every day. It should be pleasing to the eyes. I love it.

Very squee-worthy
We’re a family who uses a lot of hot water: tea, instant noodles, cooking prep, pour over coffee are all everyday needs in our house. We’ve got an electric air pot, as is the Japanese custom, but we’ve also grown to appreciate having an electric kettle on hand. We’ve got 3 or 4 that we use regularly for home, travel, and dorm rooms. This Harriet electric kettle is a little different, and a little better. The first thing that drew us was, of course, that this kettle is adorable. It’s even cuter in person. But we don’t need a new kettle just because it’s cute. What won me over was the thermometer. With a daughter who prefers green teas, a husband who prefers pour over coffee, and me drinking black and herbal teas, knowing what temperature your water is really REALLY improves the finished product. I knew we needed it when my daughter started hovering over our old electric kettle with my meat thermometer. The probe on this one sticks out into the center of the kettle — not too close to the bottom! YAY!This kettle is also different in that it’s primarily made of metal rather than glass and plastic. I really like the more heavy-duty construction. One caveat: the entire thing DOES get hot!! Be careful to only touch the lid by the little handle! This kettle is not for children or people who know they won’t be careful with it (not that boiling water is a good idea in any child context…)At any rate, this kettle has, so far, delivered on everything we hoped. While I can’t speak yet for how long it lasts, all indications are that this is a keeper.

There is plastic inside the kettle
The description for this product claims that “no plastic touches the water”. However, this is not the case, as the transparent fill gauge on the side is made of plastic and contacts the water inside the kettle. We returned it for this reason

Beautiful retro design, though with a few minor issues
The design is stunning, and it works great as a kettle without taking too long to boilâthe max capacity is pretty high too, the volume is substantial. The temperature dial is convenient. The two little problems though, are that the lid gets way, way too hot when the water is heated, so if you want to refill it to boil more water, you need to be VERY careful or use an oven mitt. Also, if you have the water set to boil, then take the kettle off to pour some, and then put it back on, itâll automatically keep heating up and boiling. For some thatâs convenient, but I wish there was an option to just let it shut off when I go to pour some water for my tea or what have you.Aside from that, this has a lovely design and works great as a basic kettle. I would recommend it for others, but if I knew about the few issues it has, I think Iâd have gone for a different kettle. Iâve nearly burned my hand twice :/
