A beautiful, wonderful paring knife
A friend was given this knife as a gift and I tried it. I have never forgotten how great it felt in my hand. After trying the top quality knives that are available at my local Crate and Barrel, I realized that this Hammer Stahl knife is the one for me. The handle has weight, so it gives me more control. The blade is thin and sharp. It’s very sharp but not as scary and dangerous as other knives I have bought, which I have immediately cut myself with. And it’s beautiful. I use it many times every day.

If I was left on an island with one knife choice it would be a pairing knife. You could really do it all. Especially smaller hands and wrists it works out better for me. I use this one a lot. No issues.

This is a fine quality knife and is quickly becoming my go-to for cutting small fruit and veggies. It’s well-made and I love the look. The only negative is that it’s a little heavier than your average paring knife. For some this will be a plus, it has good heft, but I don’t think I would use it to peel fruit or vegetables. It might make a fine throwing blade if someone tries to attack you in the kitchen, but on reconsideration, the balance is probably not right for throwing. Just a thought.
