âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ The Perfect Replacement!
I bought the Hamilton Beach 49900 FlexBrew to replace two big-name brand coffee makers that broke within a year, and I couldnât be happier with my choice! This coffee maker is strong, reliable, and does the job without all the frustration. Why I Love It:â Great value â It brews just as well (if not better) than those expensive options but at a fraction of the price.â Versatile â It works with both K-Cups and ground coffee, which gives me the flexibility I need.â Reliable â Itâs been going strong, no issues so far, and itâs been months.â Simple to use â The setup is easy, and it brews quickly every time.Iâm so glad I made the switch to the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew. Itâs solid, dependable, and delivers a perfect cup of coffee every morning. Highly recommend if youâre tired of constantly replacing expensive brands! âï¸

Nothing to Not Like!
I bought this coffee maker because there were no reviews less than 4 on the website. I quickly found out why. It just works. Control the strength of the brew with the amount of water you use. There is no reservoir, so you have to add water every time you use it. The water is always fresh. A little water stays behind in the heater, but if you use it a lot (2-3 cups/day) the water will never get stale. If you are going to leave it alone for awhile, just unplug it and turn it upside to drain (over a towel or tray). The brew basket holds two tablespoons of ground coffee – plenty for an 8-10 oz cup. I haven’t had any problems with any of the brands of pods I have tried. The feed needle and brew baskets ae easily removed for cleaning or replacement. You do have to remember to put a cup under the basket or you will have a mess – but’s that’s a user problem.I liked it so well I gave away my old Cuisinart drip brewer!Update – The only problem I have found after using it to make 3 cups of coffee per day for six months, the lettering on the power buttons is starting to fade where I touch them.

Makes coffee, consistent taste.
Seems to work well. Only issue it that the BOLD and Normal switches on the side seem to be misaligned. You have to press on the upper left part of the switch to get them to activate. If you press directly on the switch, nothing happens. Believe the circuit board under the switch covers is not properly aligned.

Compact, fast, and easy to clean
I’ve had an earlier model of this brewer at home for years now and we use it daily. Bought this for our small office after our mini “K” brewer quit working properly. This one is a little wider than the “K” we had but not by much. Works great for all kinds of K-compatible pods and SO much easier to clean than the “K” (or any other pod brewer). A few people use the filter cup for grounds, too, and they tell me their coffee tastes richer than when they put the grounds in a little faux-pod. It is a bit noisy, but pretty quick.

So Far, So Good (Updateâ¦lasted less than 2 months)
Update: less than 2 months of use and it failed. Suspect water pumping mechanism. Takes 3-5 cycles just to produce 10-12 ounce cup of coffee. Guess Iâm back in the market for another new one.Purchased to replace my second “K Brand” maker that failed at about a year old. Hope this one holds up better. It is a bit unique. The water reservoir is one cup of Joe at a time. No bulk holding tank, ok not terrible, just not what I am accustomed to having. The brew time is longer than the major brand. It takes an honest couple minutes to brew. If it holds up the nuances are no big deal.Pros out of the box: It includes the basket to use your own grounds, rather than being another purchase. You may also use the cup style. Quick and easy set up, it’s pretty much plug and play.Overall I like it. Took a few days to “get use to”. If it holds up I’ll be very happy with it. Time will tell. Price was right.

Exceeded expectations
I grind my own beans and have pour-over coffee every morning. I bought this specifically for my Mom when she visits so she can have quick-and-easy coffee when she wakes up before me.I’m not exactly a coffee snob, but I do really enjoy really good coffee and this little coffee maker can make some really good coffee if you know a bit about what you’re doing. As always with really good cup-of-joe, you have to have really good ingredients: Freshly ground from quality beans with quality water. With those three things, you can have some really good cups out of this brewer.Pros:- It’s really slim. Barely takes up any counter space.- With the right stuff, you can make really good coffee.- It’s super easy to use. Load up coffee, pour in water, press a button.- It’s easy enough to clean. Rinsing the little basket isn’t terrifically difficult.- It’s not a slow brewer. It’s not particularly fast, but is reasonable.- Flexibility with the “cups” are a plus.Cons:- There’s not a great way to use paper filters, which is my preferred filter method. I grind my beans a little courser with the provided mesh filter basket.- The “Bold” option simply burns your coffee. If you like that burnt flavor, then this will be a Pro for you.- It’s kind of loud when it starts up heating the water. Louder than most single serving brewers that I’m familiar with.At the end of the day, I wanted something that won’t take up much space (for when my Mom isn’t visiting) and is an easy/competent brewer. This fits the bill nearly perfectly. Couldn’t be happier.

Bought as a mother’s day after my non coffee drinker self bought my mom a bag of ground coffee beans from Costa Rica instead of instant coffee LOL In my defence it looks the same. Anyways love the versatility she can use it to make ground coffee as well as the kcups. I recently got the Tim Hortons French Vanilla pods and it works great. We use boiled water that is refrigerated and it make it hot. Very quick and relatively quiet compared to the sounds of a boiling kettle that I am used too. Visiting family members also enjoyed using the machine, very simple to operate and clean. Hope the price is reflected in the longevity of the machine. I recently bought the cleaning pods, as I saw other reviews suggested using a cleaning pod once a month.

Had to restart the machine 2-3 times in order to complete the cycle and have a cup of coffee only 41/2 weeks after purchaseWater reservoir made a mess while being filled. All in all it was a very poor experience.Told that if I paid the $30 cost of shipping they would send me a new one. So then I am out $105.00 instead of only $80.00.They should have sent the new one at no cost to me. Would definitely avoid dealing with this company they are slow to respond and donât back up their product properly.

Better than instant coffee but still lacks extraction. However, I did not try using Kcup pods. The problem is with the coffee grounds basket. I would suggest for future models to simply scrap the coffee grounds basket and replace it with a reusable Kcup pod (preferably in stainless) that has pre-drilled enter and exit holes that woul fit in the Kcup basket. This will surely create good extraction without having to resort to polluting plastic Kcups.
