Great blender I’ve used it for mixing ice. I’ve used it for milkshakes. I’ve used it for some recipe recipes that require blending and it works very well.

I’m writing this over a year after purchasing this blender so hopefully it can help someone who like me had a hard time choosing between all the options & discerning between people’s reviews that love or hate the same item!I’ve used this blender every day for a year and a half , many days twice a day and I like what I blend to be super smooth and I also adjust ingredients as I go , so in the sense of length of time blending it’s not just a few seconds of blending it’s more like a few minutes in a few segments and so I have a basis to say that this cheaper item holds up well and blends excellently . I don’t blend with ice but I do use frozen fruit and I am gentle with it in the sense that chop up veggies or lightly boil to soften them first and I get great results , I make nut milk and it blends the nuts nicely but I soak them for a while first and I have not gotten that bunt metal smell that some blenders give of when they over heat. I’ve had no issue at all with the motor or power for over a year of heavy blending . It’s easy to clean , some liquid seeps behind the glass and it comes out easily and doesn’t affect its functioning . The glass is great quality , it’s heavy and can withstand when I use boiling hot water or ingredients at times . The only issue I had was with the initial one I bought and returned because I thought it was a defect but second one had the same issue as well and so I just kept it.the issue is that the plastic cover does not stay sealed onto the glass, I have to hold it down if my blender is full . It’s not a big deal and stays sealed tightly when I hold it , it’s a small trade off for a very good blender at a great price and better to have to hold it than the other issue of it getting stuck and being hard to remove The cord is long enough unlike some other blenders I’ve had . The noise is annoying like most blenders but isn’t any worse .At this point if this one gave out I would feel like I got my moneys worth and buy the same one again .

EDIT: Hook the semicircle pour spout on first and it’s much easier to snap the lid down.Original 3-star review:I acquired this after my old Oster unit failed mechanically, so it was a bit of an emergency buy.While the blender is otherwise competently made, I have found that the lid was poorly designed. The lid has a inch-long lip at the bottom with a small curl at the edge to form a seal, but it appears to have been designed for a more cylindrical hopper. The hopper with this blender is tapered, including where the lid is supposed to seat. The result is that the lid slides upwards, and significant force is required to seat it during operation. In addition, the clear pour spout leaks during operation, and the rear black spout requires much fiddling to properly seat.While these are not deal-breakers for me, others may have issue with this.

I’ve had this blender before, and owned many other blenders and found myself coming back to this one, it’s not the greatest high tech blender but it does the job and I never have a clumpy smoothie drink when I use this blender. And I like that it’s really easy to clean once you just take it apart in pieces, which I didn’t realize until just recently.

The jar is of pure glass and too heavy. Nowhere its clear from the description and details of the product.I opted to return the same.
