Does it all!!!
This food processor is our favorite. I have spent $$$ on a high end processor that went back to the store the next day because the bowl got stuck. I was told that was a known problem. This little Hamilton Beach food processor is amazing. I use it almost daily and no job is too large. This is my second one and the first lasted over 11 years. The price is unbelievable for the excellent quality and performance.

Extremely hard to clean due to extremely bad design.
I’ve had this machine for almost 5 years. I’ve been using it just about every week for the past year and a half. About half that amount of time the first 3 and a half years. When you pour the contents of the processed food out of the bowl, it pours over an enclosed piece of the bowl and when pouring, the food goes into this section which has a small slot on the top and just a tiny hole with something in that hole on the bottom leaving very little room for anything to drain out. It was getting so dirty on my machine that I took a drill and drilled 2 holes so I could easily get water into that section and get it to drain out. I can get it much cleaner now but still not perfectly clean. The was a major design flaw of the machine and I can’t understand why no one stopped the manufacturing of this machine before it got started. I know what to look for in the next machine I purchase. This one is garbage because it has to be put away dirty and thats just not right.

It’s taller than the specs.
This won’t fit under my cabinet if it’s assembled. When it’s not assembled, the parts must be stored someplace.

One designing flaw but great food processor! Strong!
Basically, I like this food processor. I have been using Kitchenaid for years with the smaller cup inside so vwhen I saw this one with the small bowl, it was the selling point for me. Problem is: I can’t figure out how to get the top on it to use it! It’s not an easily accessible, no directions type of processor like my kitchenaid was. I dodgy buy another Kitchenaid because they are so heavy for me to pick up when I’m trying to use it. This Hamilton Beach was PERFECT in that regard! It’s lightweight and cuts very strong and precise! I LOVE it! The design flaw is in the cleaning of the safety lock on the lid. There’s no way to open it and I’m very careful about shaking the water from it really good if I hand wash it or making sure it’s upside down in the dishwasher and letting it go completely through the drying cycle. Anyway, the big mouth on the lid gives me and opportunity to use it for a whole or half onion or half bell pepper or whatever. I was looking for something comparable to my Kitchenaid without the heaviness and a good price point. This fits the bill! Just be mindful of the design flaw that I warned you about with the safety lock, because otherwise I could easily see it becoming a health hazard. The four stars are for the design flaw. Otherwise, I would’ve given it 5 stars all day long!

Has some design flaws
We use this primarily to grate cheese. You get a nice batch of shredded cheese that melts better and is a slightly nicer product because it doesn’t have the anti-caking stuff that the prepackaged grated cheese does. I understand that this is a bit harder on food processors than other stuff one might put in it. Our last food processor broke while grating cheese. The shaft itself cracked. This one broke after 20 months, and it was the plastic part of the shredding plate that holds the plate on the shaft. The motor is more powerful than the plastic parts can handle. There is a design flaw that made the circumstances of this failure possible. There is too much space between the bottom of the pusher and the plate. It leaves a good 1/8 inch of cheese left at the end of every block. That piece will then just sit on top of the plate, and it can catch on the edges (there are some corners in the lid along the edges that stuff catches on). I surmise that it got wedged in such a way that the plate got out of balance, which then shredded the plastic on the center of the plate instead of shredding cheese. The aforementioned gap between plate and pusher creates waste. The aforementioned corners in the lid create mess. The shape and safety lock design of the big mouth is inconvenient because the functional space is no bigger than on any other food processor, it’s just shaped differently. For the price it’s fine, but I think I prefer the performance of the cheaper model I had before. I like that this one failed on a replaceable part, except that said part is out of stock, and plates from other models won’t work in this one. I think we need to eventually get a high end food processor, but that’s not in the budget these days. I would get an easier to clean and more traditionally shaped model in the future, just because this one has too many gaps in all the wrong places, and corners where other models have rounded bits that food sticks to less. For now, however, we are left to ponder whether a new food processor is better than waiting for the replacement plate to be available. Maybe the part fails a lot, and that’s why it is out of stock. If it had failed a few days earlier, we could have at least asked for a new model for Christmas, but it failed on Christmas Eve while I was making breakfast casserole for Christmas morning. Nothing around here was still open at that hour. It at least had the courtesy to break halfway through a 2 lb block of cheese, so I had what I needed without having to pull out the hand grater.Anyway, it’s not perfect, but it’s also sort of budget friendly, so we do get what we paid for. These days that means paying more for something that will let us down sooner. My parents used a salad shooter to grate cheese and that thing did a great job, so maybe that’s something we will have to invest in and keep the food processor for lighter tasks.

Perfect size
Love this food processor. If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time for all the cutting and chopping, this works great! I would recommend.

Bought this for my grandmother for Xmas and she was pleased. Works as it should and lots of perks for the price. Quite large and more heavy and solid then what I expected.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. A little hesitant but the next processor with consistently good reviews was too expensive. So far it has exceeded all expectations. Works well and is easy to clean, nice big mouth. I have no complaints. I don’t expect it to last for years and years but so far its doing the job very well.
