Excellent coffee maker!
Just started using our new Hamilton Beach 5 in 1 and love everything about it. I found moving the reservoir from the back to the side to be very easy. After running clean water through both the single side and the carafe side, I made my first kcup. 12 ounce cup of coffee nice and hot and tasty in under 2 minutes. Then made our first carafe this morning. 10 cups with very little steam and, again, nice and hot and tasty in about 5 minutes. I’m not sure why other users are having the problems they’re experiencing, but I am very pleased with our new coffee maker. It looks great in our little coffee bar while taking up very little space. It’s quiet and makes a very good, hot, delicious cup of coffee. I’ll update my review if anything changes but at this time I would highly recommend this coffee maker.

Everything you need!
I LOVE this coffee maker. No, REALLY!!! LOVE IT! Best feature? You can set up water reservoir in the back or on the left. I needed this flexibility for my kitchen set up, as this sits on top of my microwave and is too high for me to reach a back fill reservoir. It’s very easy to fill on the side, although it is also very easy to remove and fill at the sink. Second-best feature? We’re pod people, but I love the flexibility of being able to make a LARGE pot of coffee if company comes. I used to have to pull out the old percolator. Finally? The coffee is great. You’ve got every choice you need on a simple front panel 8/10/12 oz. (or a pot, etc.) Regular or bold. I think Ice, too, but we haven’t tried that yet. Now – will it stand the test of time? My Keurig lasted a year. (Lame!) My last brand, five years (very good, but no longer available.) Fingers crossed – if this one makes it 5 years, I will be super satisfied. (We are using filtered-at-the-sink water due to very high mineral content in our area – clogs coffee makers!)If I’d change anything, I’d hinge the lid to the water reservoir. I just Jerry-Rigged it with a piece of duck tape – duck hinge! (The last thing I need before my 1st cup of coffee in the morning is trying to figure out where I put the lid down.) Second, instead of the higher cup lift (for regular coffee cups -who uses those anyway?) I’d like to see a larger foot to place your tall thermos cups, one that includes a drainage cover. These are quite minor issues, but things we have noticed as we’ve used it. Again – this unit is perfect for our needs – and a great value to boot!

So far, so great!
Iâve been a Keurig customer for years, but after having to replace the machine every 2 years or less, I decided to give another brand a try. My main reasons for purchasing this Hamilton Beach 5 in 1? The versatility, sleek space saving design, and the reviews. I love that I can use k-cups or brew a full pot!! The water reservoir is slim, but holds up to 12 cups/60 oz. The water reservoir can be changed to use it on the side or the back of the machine, depending on your space, and no tools are required. Just follow the steps. It takes about 2 minutes or less to brew a k-cup, either hot or iced, and the coffee is good! You can select regular or bold brew and you can brew up to 14 ounces!! The carafe is tucked away on the side, it brews a full pot in maybe 15-20 minutes, itâs hot, and the warmer stays on for 2 hours after the brew cycle with an automatic shut off. Coffee can be regular or bold brew and it has a programmable timer to be ready when you wake up. Again, the coffee is GOOD!! The design is space saving genius, the display face shows the time, and is pretty easy to navigate yourself or read the directions which are easy to follow and understand. The needles to poke through the k-cups are slightly larger than the Keurigâs Iâve owned but Iâve had no issues with unwanted coffee grounds, outside of the norm. Now to the thing that took away a star⦠the cup holder plate thing. I donât like it. It doesnât snap in, it just sits there which feels sort of clumsy. I like bigger, rounder cups and they donât feel secure sitting on the holder. The larger cups will fit on it, but I personally think a larger base with a snap in/out feature would be wise and definitely earn its 5 star glory. You get a great looking coffee maker perfect for small spaces with the versatility and functionality many coffee drinkers need at a very reasonable price point. Iâm so happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend!! I did buy the extended warranty, but this also comes with a manufacturerâs limited warranty too. I find it doesnât hurt to spend a few extra bucks up front to cover the whole thing for (hopefully) years to come.

The gift that did not keep on giving
Bought this for a birthday gift for my husband and was excited that he would be able to make his cuppa coffee before work every day and when we had company we would be able to have a pot of coffee. Also, like the fact that it was a slim design and wouldnât take up a lot of room on our counters. One week into using it started to malfunction. It kept giving us error codes about a needle and would not brew a full cup of coffee. When the error message came on, it would stop brewing. Then when you got it to start brewing again, it would overflow your cup.It happened every single time even after we googled how to clean the needle and get the machine working again. Shouldnât have to clean the needle after a week of using the machine. Just not going to deal with something that thatâs frustrating for a cup of coffee. Going with a Keurig model instead.

CUP O MUD
Absolutely LOVE this coffee maker. All round versatility, in that I can fill the 60oz reservoir and from that, I can make a 2,4,6,8,10,12 cup carafe of coffee, bold or regular. Move to the front, I can brew a single cup or mug from 8-14 Oz, bold or regular, as well as I could use a k-cup or alternate.I can set the timer. The only bad thing is, it does not come with disposable filters, nor a permanent filter. The carafe sets in the side, so, if it is on a “coffee bar”, one will need room from the side to pull the carafe out. The reservoir can be placed on the side or the back, a neat concept…BUT, if you desire to change the reservoir, you will need a special bit to do so…a tri-point tip, they do not add with the kit.All in all…a wonderful brew.
