These are the ones!
If you’ve been looking through a ton of silverware listings and hating how expensive the nice ones seem without knowing if they’ll actually last and be worth the money, I literally just bought another set to replace the ones that have disappeared (husband and kids using them for projects ð) over the last EIGHT YEARS. That’s right. I love this set. I originally bought two and they still look brand new. They have a nice weight to them, are completely dishwasher safe, no rust, no bending. Just an all around nice set of silverware. Just buy them and end your search already lolUpdate for anyone buying replacements. These are still the same great quality, but they are a tiny bit shorter than the older version and the knives are now serrated. It’s not that noticeable so still ok to buy as a replacement set.

I bought two sets and I am very satisfied. Exactly what I wanted. Simple elegant design, sturdy, very nice finish, and hold up well in daily use. I have had these for about 10 months and they still look new (I use a dishwasher to clean them). I do wish tea spoons were included, but at this price, you can’t really complain.Highly recommended.Update: My review still stands, but I ordered a 3rd set for another location and it arrived today. This set showed signs of being old and perhaps having been shipped previously. At any rate, the box looked older and worn and several of the pieces had small nicks and scratches. Not enough to make me return them, but disappointing none-the-less. My other two sets were perfect. This can be a problem with Amazon (I buy a lot from Amazon) sometimes. Thankfully, not too often and they are quick to make amends (in my experience). So I could, of course, return these and they would cheerfully replace them. However, not worth the hassle to me as the defects are minor and won’t be noticed.

I purchased two sets of these about a year ago when I got married (Spring 2011), and we’ve absolutely loved this flatware for a year. They’re solid, feel great in the hand, and look great after coming out of the dishwasher (unless we don’t pre-wash them, but that’s an issue with our dishwasher, not the flatware). I particularly like the clean lines of the knife, as well as the fact that it’s not serrated.I purchased an additional set the other day (Spring 2012) to add to our existing pieces, and was very surprised when I opened the box. The knife curves a bit now, rather than being perfectly straight on the back! There are small differences in the other pieces as well, causing them to not nest nicely when stacked. I called Gourmet Settings Customer Service, and the woman I spoke with said that they had a redesign about six months ago. I call shenanigans. If they’re going to redesign it, they shouldn’t have given it the same name! As it is, I won’t be keeping this new set. I’m supposed to email someone at Gourmet Settings to see if they have any old stock, and we’ll see if they’re able to help me. I’ll update back here with the results after this whole thing is resolved.Don’t get me wrong, the new set is fantastic, and I still like it a lot. It has the same great weight and feel, and if I had 3-4 sets of this new design, I would be perfectly happy. The new and the old just don’t match though, which is why I’ve deducted a star. Check user photos to see the difference, particularly between the knives.**UPDATE** Customer service with Gourmet Settings finally got back to me and said they had changed manufacturers or something, so the dies had been remade, which is why there are slight differences. They were great about it (once they finally responded), and send me two “new” sets free of charge to replace the “old” ones I had, giving me three identical sets. Customer service was great (if a little slow), and I still recommend this flatware highly– great weight, and cleans up great in our (admittedly cheap) dishwasher. Don’t hesitate to purchase these, just double check if you’re matching flatware sets from 2011 or earlier.

These are well made.Firstly, they have some weight to them, unlike some others one could find at this reasonable price. This makes them feel as though they will last and I have no reason to doubt that.Secondly, the design is very contemporary and classy (not classic). I’m not a fan of overly ornate or textured flatware. These fit the bill. Nice and smooth.Finally, durability. They have endured quite a few hand washings in the sink where they were all being jostled against each other with no ill effects. No scrapes, dings, or flaking. Shiny as new.Good purchase!

Went Back For Seconds!!
Amazing look, feel, and quality. Especially for the price! They are nice and heavy, look expensive, and I couldn’t be happier. I bought a set for myself a year ago when I was single. I got married a month ago and rushed back to buy another set since I would-be having more people over. Glad I did!The small forks do appear to be ever so slightly smaller than the ones you see in other silverware sets, but I like them that way and I believe its mainly due to the shape of the prongs. The length of the handle is the same.

I just received my âSTRANDâ GS uternsils. They are beautiful and sturdy feeling. I donât think they will bend easily at all. I live in a dry desert area and am not worried about them rusting. From what other comments I read about them, 18/0 isnât good to have in humid climates.

Decent set
Very nice set for 1 or 2 people. Iâm picky about the butter knives because they are a little sharp so getting anything out of a plastic jar (peanut butter) Iâm careful not to scrape the sides. Other than that. Very happy.

Pattern has changed
I bought several boxes in 2021. This year (2023) I needed to add more because you know flatware is like socks and dryers. I ordered two more boxes and opened and washed one of them without paying attention. It turns out that the 2023 version is completely different than the 2021 version. I am able to return one box, but the other box was thrown away so now I have to eat the money paid for one box.
