Love the Locking Handles
This pan is great. I got it specifically for pasta, and anything that needs to be drained. The lid locks into place. Nothing can fall out of the pan when draining. There are holes that strain, so I found I didnât need an extra strainer. I suppose if you wanted something more strained you could use one, but so far I havenât needed one. It is scratch resistant, and the coding prevents sticking, making cleanup easy.

Great pot but a little smaller than I would have like
This pot has an ingenious design, where a part of the handle swings over the lid to keep the lid locked onto the pot so you can easily strain the pasta. This Is a medium sized pot. When I purchased it, it looked a little bigger and well I did check the number of courts in the pot. I thought it would be OK. It easily holds about one and a half boxes of pasta to Cook and I had hoped for some thing that would hold too. I think I just bought a pot that was a bit Too small.
I like the Nonstick surface in the pot. I have used this for cooking pasta, steaming vegetables and itâs useful for almost anything that you would cook and then need to drain overall this is a handy addition to my kitchen and Iâm very glad I purchased it.

Love not having to use hot pads to drain, and it cleans easily
It is a little big for my use in cooking for two, however, I love the handles which are heat resistant, so you don’t have to use pot holders during draining. The handles also lock in place which makes it easier to drain, and it is also easy to clean.

Solid Product for Those Possessing Common Sense
For the reviewers complaining that you canât heat 5 quarts of liquid in this 5 quart pot â well, duh! Any cook knows that the actual (stated) capacity of a pot is not the cooking capacity. Itâs just common sense.
For the reviewer who complained that âit is posted that this pan is oven safe up to 500 degreesâ and posted a photo of melted handles at 325 degrees: the handles are plastic! Why on earth would you ever think that plastic handles would be oven-safe? The manufacturer clearly states, âDo not use in oven.â The manufacturer also makes it clear that the handles should not come into contact with the gas flame on the stove. Because â you guessed it â plastic melts!
Note: the term âlocking handlesâ is mildly deceptive. By twisting the handles 180 degrees, you secure the lid to the pot; however, the handles do not actually lock in place. It is hypothetically possible for the ergonomically challenged cook to somehow give those handles another 180 degree spin while draining the pot. This would mean the lid would no longer be secured to the pot. That said, I do not think this product presents any more risk than any other pasta pot. It is simply best practice to have your wits about you when you are draining off boiling water from a pasta pot.
The manufacturer states metal utensils can be used with this pot, but Iâd stay away from them. This is a no brainer as there will be no trade off in quality or performance if you use plastic or wooden utensils.
The manufacturer also states this product is dishwasher safe but recommends hand washing and this is good advice. Harsh detergents and super high water temps are no friends to nonstick cookware.
Lastly, donât use nonstick sprays like Pam with this pot unless you love icky residue buildup.
Summary:
Pros: heats liquids quickly, cleans easily.
Cons: handles get hot (but hey, thatâs what pot holders are for). On the small side if you are cooking for a large group or doing meal prep.
