I wanted a small, ceramic, cast iron Dutch oven to make small batches of homemade dinner rolls. I have a very large one and really love it. Saw this one on sale on Black Friday and pulled the trigger. Came quickly and it is better then I expected. Rubber lid rests came with…NICE. When not using the Dutch oven, the lid rests on the rubber tabs so as not to touch the ceramic/iron to the pot. Any cast iron lids should be stored separately and not on the pot itself. Remove the rubber pieces before cooking/baking and put them in a safe place for when you store the pot . FYI: This is NOT dishwasher safe. It must be hand washed always. It can be used on the stove too but NOT for rolling boils…medium high and low is all the heat this little guy can take. Oven safe for up to 500 degrees. This little Dutch oven is so PRETTY!! It is made by Gibson, but the name is not in the lid like it looks in the picture. It is very smooth and can NOT take sharp, metal objects as they will scratch it…plastic and wooden only. NO microwave. Overall, I recommend this pot!! Pretty, heavy and functional for certain cooking and baking. Great price!! I have never owned a red pot. It looks beautiful on my kitchen counter. Merry Christmas to me!!

Great Cast Iron Cookware
I bought these cast iron cookware dutch ovens because they were smaller than my regular ones. They are the perfect size for smaller loaves of baking bread. They were inexpensive and work great,

Seems well made, and was packed in a thick cardboard box with rubber spacers to protect the edges.
Nicely made, no damage in production or shipping. Used it to make a Zuppa Toscana and it worked very well. One note: the cast iron is quite thick and so it is surprisingly heavy for its size. Had a 7 qt Le Creuset dutch oven that was much thiner and so weighed about the same as this 5 qt. I had it for over 30 years and it was still in good shape, but was making a long move so I downsized and passed it on.
