Always a good experience .
Iâve been using Amazon for a while and Iâve never had a problem. The can openers are exactly what I wanted and expected; they are the exact same kind that really work. The same kind that they used to put in the sea rations when I was in the service.I got one on every keychain and gave some for gifts. They are easy to use and look very durable.Thank you for giving me what I wanted.

Great P-38 knockoff
I’ve carried a P-38 on my keychain for over 40 years.Thin and versatile and weighing almost nothing, this tool can act as a pry, a screwdriver, a can opener, a bottle opener, or a very small spoon. You can sterilize it by lowering into boiling water – there’s a hole for a string or wire to pull it out of the water. You can use it as a staging area for tinder or charred cloth while lighting a flame – this is especially useful when you’re in an environment where it’s raining cats and dogs and everything is wet.You can cut fishing line with the can opener blade, or you can spool line around it and use it as the world’s smallest fishing pole. You could scale fish with it. It just might save your life.Yes, occasionally the pointed arm will swing open while in your pockets and it can rip a hole in the pocket if you yank on it to grab your keys. It happens a lot less than you think, maybe once per year. I will not lower the stars for the way I choose to carry it. Fabulous product.

Can openers that work “in a pinch”
I wish these were of stronger metal as used in the WWII kits, but these are small, useful can openers; however, don’t try to take them through TSA.

AWESOME buy !!!!
i bought these, cause my favorite survival guy that i follow on you tube has a few. i only try and buy american made stuff. i asked the company if they were american made and they replied quickly with a yes.. even told me which state they were made from. which is great. i bought the 5 pack, they got to my house when they said they would.right out of the package, i used all of them immediately, to see how consistent the product was, i saved a few cans that i opened from the bottom, for this test. right off the bat, all of them worked perfectly. i read some reviews that said the ones they got twisted and didnt work… this was not the case with these. perhaps those people didnt know how to use them correctly.great quality and craftsmanship. would definitely refer these to everyone, and in fact i have. bought a pack of 5, at first cause i didnt want to pay the money for something that may not have worked. but i will be a returning customer. 1 went on my key chain, 1 went into my survival tin, 1 went into my bug out bag, and the other 2 are going into my brothers hands.really great product. this product is made in the usa, and shipped in the usa. my only complaint is with amazon. yall should FBA this product. i like getting one box from amazon, with everything in it. this is NOT a mark on US Shelby CO.THANK YOU :: US Shelby CO., and thank you Amazon !!!

Aaahhhh…. Memories!
Back in the day during my Army “Basic Training,” just as they were on the very edge of making the gradual transition over from “C (‘combat’) Rations” to those gawd-awful dehydrated chalky bricks called “MREs” (‘Meal, Ready to Eat’), the troops used to receive these things as our standard can opener (which, for myself anyway, also doubled as a ‘scraper’ to strip away the green paint from along the rims my tins to prevent the flecks from contaminating my jam or other other unprotected food items). Not only were they “necessary” as part of our field survival, but for many of us they became something of a “status symbol,” and during each meal distribution we’d still ask for one, even though we’d already collected enough to mimick rattlesnake sounds with. Then suddenly, like out of nowhere, whenever the C-Rations were being handed out, and we asked for a can opener, what we got was NOT the “P-38” as we knew & loved, but was some elongated and ergonomically uncomfortable travesty which I’d learned only during past month was something called the “P-51,” and we hated it.But quickly, over time, I’d managed to lose track of every single one of the items I’d brought back from training with me, the last lone survivor having mysteriously vanished sometime roughly around 2004 or so. Believing that they had all gone the way of the dinosaur, along with our sarcastically beloved “C-Rations,” it wasn’t until only very recently that the thought had occurred to me that just MAYBE there might be a market for obscure items such as this in the “online” arena. Imagine my surprise when I learned that these things were not nearly as rare & obscure as I’d imagined! The “5-pack” is just perfect! Now, in order to make sure I never lose track of them as before, I’ve looped one onto each of my keyrings (primary & back-up) and placed the other inside the pocket of my army duffel bag (which is where I’d stored my final hold-out before it inexplicably faded into the ether), so now there should be no more (or very rare few) bizarre vanishing acts.As for the units themselves, I couldn’t ask for more: they are well made, sharper than they appear, and have a very smooth (almost too smooth) operation… needless to say, I’m very impressed with such a seemingly “little” thing. The units I’d purchased from the seller “Gadgetscollection” are indeed stamped “US Shelby Co.”, but you may want to verify that they are so designated before deciding to purchase from any of the various sellers. Cheers!

Not quite like the GI version
Theyâre a bit smaller and thinner than the ones I remember from way back when, but they fit the bill.

The ole military can opener
Best think since sliced bread. So much better than any electric can opener on the market.

as stated, works perfectly

This was the only kind of can opener we had growing up. I used one of these from about age 6 as it was my job to feed the cat. If you’ve never used one, it may take a bit of practice. These are the smaller ones, ideal if you are a camper. I ordered large ones a few months ago, but didn’t get on with them. I actually have been using one that was my dad’s, the same one I used as a child 58 years ago, I only ordered these because I was worried my old one would get lost constantly moving it between the house & camper. I’ve tried many different types of can opener over the years, but they were either bulky, awkward to use or failed. These small size ones can be used to open any size of can. You can put this on your key ring if camping, boating etc… It takes seconds to open a can, though I imagine it could be challenging if you have arthritical hands. This is the P38 size. Very durable.

I do not normally write reviews unless the subject under review is very good or very bad.Unfortunately these fall into the latter category.I have used similar in the past that were issued in MOD ration packsand performed brilliantly, however these appeared to be either too thin or made from very inferior materials. Went through two of them without actually managing to pierce the can. The hook just bent rendering the things useless. Iended up having to blunt a very nice pocket knife to get the can open. Very disappointed as these were supposed to be the real deal.
