Nice little espresso maker
So far so good. Just bought this for Christmas gift for my coffee loving wife and tried it out in the morning. Worked great! Take time to read the instructions carefully and thoroughly! The instruction manual is extremely well written. Follow them exactly step by step. There is a step regarding heating up your cup using hot water from the frother prior to making the espresso. I decided to skip this step as I didn’t think it was necessary. The espresso machine will not allow you to make your espresso if you skip this step. That was my only little “hitch” in learning how to use the machine. After a few tries, O found this machine very easy to use and it makes a great espresso. The espresso maker looks sleek and modern and does not take up much countertop space. There are several customizable features which speaks to the great technology. Customer service is off shore but there is a U.S. phone number. I tried it out and was able to connect with service quickly in an efficient and understandable manner. Very satisfied upon initial use!

This is the second one I’ve purchased. I purchased this one for my daughter. She is a schoolteacher and the last thing she does before leaving for school in the morning is make herself a double-Americano. She likes it because of the ease of use and flavor of her coffee drinks. She (we) love this machine! I make myself a Capuchino everyday with mine. We both have had different espresso machines manufactured by different companies. This one is the easiest to use. Just push a button and auto-pour one or two shots! It is also smaller than other machines, takes up less room on the counter, and looks good too! OH, WAIT! Did I mention the very reasonable price? In my opinion, for an at-home espresso machine this one can’t be beat!

Read the directions and be ready for a short learning curve.
To person who said Inexpensive, great coffee, adequate frother…terrible electronics because the red light kept coming on — read the directions. If you use the frother, it heats up the machine. You need to wait 30 seconds for it to cool down before another pull, or you need to turn off the frother and blow some water through to quickly cool it down — this is in the directions, kids.I agree with the person who said don’t get the model with the auto-frother. That’s what I started with, don’t love it, and switched to the one with the old-fashioned regular frother.Be reasonable. This is not a $600 machine, and for what it is, it works, looks great, and takes up little counter space. The reviewer who said “don’t give up” hit the nail on the head.This is something you get used to — the grind of the beans, tamping it down, figuring out how to froth the milk, etc. Read the directions, watch a couple of videos, and it’ll be worth it.Be patient. This isn’t pour-over (although I kept my pour-over because I still like that, too). And if you don’t want to be patient, maybe at least don’t give it a bad review because you didn’t read the directions 🙂

Plastic permanent insert in the Portafilter
Nice little espresso maker. I had a Breville BES870XL machine. Had to give it up. My son is now enjoying it.Been drinking espresso since I was 18yrs old, now I’m 55, so I’ve had a few years of experience, one could say. Giving this one 4 stars for the plastic insert in the portafilter, where the hot espresso passes through in direct contact with plastic. We try to avoid this. It does slightly affect the taste as the plastic releases micro amounts of organic chemicals contained within. Such as benzene and toluene based chemicals. There was no way to tell the portafilter contained plastic.bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates (like DEHP), flame retardants, vinyl chloride (in PVC), nonylphenol, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), certain UV stabilizers, and various metals and metalloidsHowever, it does make a decent espresso with a good amount of crema. The frothing wand works well. I must recommend trying your favorite medium roast coffee to make an espresso. I use Death Wish coffee for this purpose and it makes a superb espresso, cap or latte. It is hardly bitter at all. Drinking some espresso by itself is so easy with this stuff, not bitter, smooth clean taste w/ a thick crema. This machine will do it. Try some Death Wish whole bean medium roast, you won’t be disappointed. Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Death Wish Coffee. Only a loyal customer. It’s the best.Many espresso roast coffees are roasted at high temps to a very dark color, burning the beans and they then develop a high level of bitterness, and a burnt flavor. Go read about Death Wish’s low temp roasting process. Good flavor, destroys less caffeine, so it is actually has 2X the caffeine of regular coffee, naturally. No synthetic caffeine sprayed on your beans to make up for what was lost during the roasting process as many commercial coffee brands do this.Again, let me reiterate: Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Death Wish Coffee. This machine works right out of the box, and it works well; it does everything as advertised. While this is an entry-level machine, it is perfect for my use: with six solar panels on top of my motorhome, I can have espresso anytime I like, but a big selling point for me, RV storage space being at a premium, is the size⦠it’s perfect.Once you turn it on, the 20 bars of pressure push hot water through the puck to brew a perfect cup, covered in crema less than two minutes. The steamer/milk frother gives a nice, dry microfoam for a macchiato or hot milk for a latte. The position of the diffuser tube sucks in more or less air and is adjustable to produce steamed milk or foaming milk. I think it is an excellent value and perfect for small kitchens.
