Balance is very good and feels well in your hand not too heavy. It is a good heavy knife for the size but it’s not unwieldy.It’s a very beautiful knife. After receiving it, I immediately bought the paring knife.I use the knife primarily to cut through beef and pork steaks. It glides like butter. I accidentally cut through the gristle and bone with ease. I have yet to use it for veg or actual bone separation. Additionally, the blade is stiff with very minimum flexibility. I like this because I am less likely to cut myself. For me, bendable blades are dangerous. One last thing, I love the non serrated edge of the blade–awesome.
