The pot is great – but with safety concerns
This passed the fried eggs without sticking, chicken cutlets with a nice brown, and carmalized, sautéed onions tests all at medium heat. Normally I wouldn’t do things like that in a stockpot but I wanted to see if this pot was able to have a little more functionality if needed. The non-stick coating did the job but still allowed the food to brown so you can brown up a few things in one pot for a stew before assembling all the ingredients. The size is great. It washes up nicely. My hesitation is that this is claimed to be non-toxic ceramic but there is an * with the claim and I can’t find any fine print to match. Inside the packaging there is a a warning not to use this pot near birds and small pets. They have a write up on their support site to explain it’s only toxic to birds when overheated to 600 degrees but then the link for their other safety data document doesn’t work. If you’re unfamiliar with the problems with ceramic coatings not being quite what they’re claimed to be, you can do a little research to find out. I’d like to see from this company something more than the FDA says it’s safe levels of exposure. Also, if your house is like mine with teens learning to cook and a busy life, maybe you’ve had the experience where the pot boils so dry because someone forgot they set the water to boil and walked out of the kitchen that when you pick up the stainless steel pot, the clad plate on the bottom simply falls off with a clank. Gave up. Done. Can’t do anything more. Yep. You definitely need a new pot. If that’s your house, there is a warning you should know about. The aluminum core, if exposed to prolonged overheating or allowed to boil dry, may melt and separate from the base resulting in molten aluminum releasing that could cause severe injury. The instructions say to just turn off the heat source and leave the pot untouched. All well and good unless someone is prone to panic.Sounds like an extreme or rare scenario. But maybe you already know that hardboiled eggs will explode when continued heat is present after the water is long gone. And now you need another new pot.

Frustrated trying to find the best choice.
Many warnings when opened I did not see on details before purchase. It’s a beautiful pot but I don’t want to take any chances.

    Our new favorite everyday stockpot!
It does it all! From sauteing, sauces, making confections (in particular my favorite fudge recipe), this Farberware Forged Induction Ceramic pot is just what I was looking for. Excellent heat distribution, non-toxic ceramic nonstick. Dishwasher and oven safe, this has become an everyday cooking pot for us. The shatter-resistant glass lid is also a plus. It works great on our gas stove, but it is suitable for all stove tops, including induction. It washes up by hand with little to no effort. An excellent choice! Our go-to pot. Happy cooking!

    Great
This is a fantastic piece of cookware that heats solid and evenly. It’s meant for those glass stovetops but it works fine with my coils as well. I use it all the time when I need to make a big pot of something, like stew.
