Judith here – I had been looking for a smaller cast iron baker for making sour dough and this popped up. I LOVE IT!!! It is perfect for a loaf of bread for the two of us. My recipe uses 2 Cups 100% whole white wheat flour and this baker is the perfect size. I was HOPING to get a BIG cast iron baker for making sourdough, but when this arrived and I picked it up – I am glad I got a smaller one! This baby weighs TEN POUNDS and it is heavy! I love the shape, too. Jim nicknamed it my “bread bomb” because of its shape. Have been using it for just a couple of weeks and it is already becoming seasoned nicely.I got the all black model – now it said that it is enameled on the outside, but it does not feel like enamel. It feels and looks just like cast iron.I LOVE the handle design – it makes it easy to remove the lid during baking if needed. The off-set handles are perfect for this. I cannot recommend this one enough. Just remember that it IS for small loaves. OH! For open baking of just standard, uncovered baking of yeast bread, you can easily use the top for a second loaf!

With some flaws.- Nice appearance, love the bright blue color.- Incredibly heavy but that’s so be expected from a cast iron bread pan.- Lid handles are incredibly clunky. (Seriously when you’re pulling something out of the oven or trying to check on your progress fiddling with these handles combined with the heat and heaviness is positively dangerous).- Relatively non-stick. Bread did poof up nicely.- Incredibly heavy (as expected of cast iron) so could be cumbersome to store and move around.- Comes with some relatively useful tools to give you the best sourdough you can make- High quality interior. I opened it often to check and see what it went through as it was baking and I didn’t see any evidence of cracking, swelling, or etc. Able to stand up to and handle high heat.

This makes a perfect little bread loaf. I love cooking with cast iron so I was so excited to receive this product. I am Keto so I am also excited to see what I can come up with for a Keto Bread also. This is heavy and seems to be of high quality. I definitely recommend it, if this is something you are looking for. It comes with all the tools you will need to make a beautiful loaf of bread.

Weird shape
Got this because I was tired of baking loaves in toxic non stick pans and the glass ones are always too small. I love the enamel on this one and I absolutely love the handles. So far it hasn’t rusted despite being washed after every use. I like that it’s fully enclosed and the lid is the same size as the bottom so it creates an even loaf. However the overall shape is a little odd. It’s an oval but has a flatness to the bottom making the bottom weirdly off balance. It’s very very small and I have yet to be able to even use the lid because the bread just pushes it up and off during baking. It also doesn’t heat as good as I hoped..it took me almost an extra 25 minutes to make basic sandwich bread than my usual recipe that I use a nonstick loaf pan for.

It is not enamel coated as described, but instead is just like a good quality cast iron skillet.You can tell by the weight it is solid Iron. The offset handles are perfect for handling over a fire. We have already thought of other things that can be cooked for a fire. The two halves can even be used separately as small cooking pots.We are enjoying it.

Makes a beautiful loaf of bread
I received this item for free from Vine. Due to the rising prices of groceries, Iâve decided to start making my own bread again in retaliation. So if anything bread making remains pops up on my Vine, I order it. This makes a beautiful small loaf of bread – super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I thought originally this was going to be pure cast iron but there is actually an enamel coating making this very easy to wash. It also comes with a bunch of accessories including a scrub brush that works great. This guy is pretty heavy and can be awkward to get in and out of the oven. It makes a small loaf – my first recipe used 4 cups of flour and when it rose, it filled the entire pan. So I wouldnât use a recipe over 4 cups of flour.

I was excited to receive this as my Christmas present. I was looking for to baking a loaf for Christmas dinner but unfortunately it came with the handle broken off. Such a disappointment Iâm really bummed this didnât work out.

Heavy duty dutch oven with a domed lid
I ordered this to make sourdough bread loaves.This dutch oven is long and skinny with a domed top to allow the bread space to become nice and fluffy while keeping it covered. The bottom of this pan is flattened and the handles make it easy to move this pan to and from the oven. This is a very heavy cast iron dutch oven and can be difficult to lift. This is a well constructed dutch oven and I do not often see dutch ovens in this shape. This dutch oven also comes with a few tools to help with baking sourdough bread.Overall, this is a well made, heavy duty dutch oven for sourdough bread loaves.

I was sceptical and did a lot of research and comparing. I’m so pleased I went for this. I am a total beginner in bread making but was delighted with what I turned out. It came with a silicon insert and some other tools, and is a lot cheaper than its rival. I went for a good quality flour and the loaf was tasty and has kept well. Don’t hesitate if you’re looking for a product that will produce the goods. Yes it might be a bit expensive but I think it’s worth it.
