Easy and quick, quiet and safe as long as you follow directions and pay attention. Good for maintaining sharp knives or resharpening mildly dull edges. I keep several around for kitchen, garage, or field use. Not for severely dull or damaged blades. A sharp knife is a safer knife!

I never thought that I will ever buy a pull-thru knife sharpener, I’ve always used diamond whetstones. But I got one to have around in the kitchen for some quick honing when needed. I tried it out on a slicing knife and I must say that this sharpener is real good. I got really great results with just a few swipes. I only used the Fine side for now because I didn’t really have to use the Course side since all my knifes are in good shape.This sharpener is a must have in every kitchen, it is made of good quality materiel, the soft grip handle feels comfortable in your hands and the non-slip rubber feet bottom makes it easy to use on the countertop. You don’t have to mess with honing oils, stones, or trying to figure out the angles. Just pull the knife thru while applying smooth pressure and it does the job for you. Don’t put too much pressure or you will damage the knife and try not to use the course side too often. Also for serrated knifes you should only use the Fine side.

Well constructed, easy to use. Best suited, I think (but I certainly am no expert) for use with knives that have a secondary grind (edge). My favorite knives have a scandi grind and I don’t see this sharpener being good for them. But for other types of a edge this type of sharpener can work really well.

I saw the little brother to this one on YTube on Bearded Butcher. I was going to get it and saw this one. Same sharper just a different handle. More expensive but a much better handle. The handle really is worth the extra price. Takes some practice to make sure you keep the knife really vertical but when you get used to it, it works very well. Wish they made one with a knife guide.

Key to use is to run the knife you’re going to use over this 3-4x before use. This keeps my knives incredibly sharp always. Its small so I just leave it next to my knife block (also essential if you want sharp knives!) and this reminds me to run the knife through before use. The coarse side is quite aggressive so use sparingly to remover a very dull blade.
