Excellent fit and finish
Excellent capable knife. Keeps its edge and I am hard on knives due to how much I use them to clean game after hunting. These knives stay shaper longer than most I’ve had before . The price makes these a winner

These are beautifully crafted
Rarely do products surpass your expectations the way these knives did. The Damascus VG10 Steel is very well crafted with a full tang and nicely balanced. The rosewood handle fits the hand surprisingly well and crafted seamlessly to the blade. The knives came sharp, but can certainly be sharpened further with minimal effort. An unbeatable value for the price. You will not be disappointed.Please pay attention to the care instructions: these knives cannot go in the dishwasher or be left submerged in water. If you are looking for a knife that is easier to care for, then look for german stainless rather than Damascus steel.

Maybe not as good as a $100 Japanese knife..;
The ridiculous prices on the Home Hero knives is certainly attractive- and the claims seem a bit much. I have two, chef and paring.First- Appearance is just like the pictures. The presentation box is classy, not cheap. The sheath device fits and works well. The only thing I found in careful close examination are a few working marks on the side of the cutting bevel, and you have to look very closely. Just small cosmetic issues, no problem. As for sharp- both will slice a piece of loose paper cleanly. It’s as sharp as the true Japanese knives I have. How long they will hold an edge is yet to be seen, but I keep a simple sharpening setup around that allows me to touch up an edge in about 30 seconds and keep the precise angle.My biggest question is how they can produce this product at the price they sell for and meet expenses.I don’t think anyone would regret trying these.

This is a beautiful blade.
I’m surprised by it. Looking at the real life blade compared to the image seeking it looks exactly the same. The box is a little over kill for me. I don’t care for boxes. The box is really nice. I imagine you’re supposed to keep it in the box when you’re not using it. For a moment I was suspicious of the Damascus. A little research and i think it is now. I was playing with it and realized that it’s quite flexible. The way it feels in the hand so solid, you would never expect that you can easily force it to flex a little and come back when you release. It’s pretty sharp. I hope it cuts food up as well as it looks.

A Remarkable Value and a Quality Knife Regardless of Price
There were no issues with fit and finish on the one I received. Metal and wood were perfectly flush. Cosmetically it is very attractive. The blade was less sharp than on some knives I have bought – barely able to shave a little. But who cares? The real question is how easy is it to sharpen, and how long does the edge last. I touched this one up on my manual Chefs Choice sharpener, and it took a good edge in seconds. Haven’t used it long enough to test edge retention yet, but if it is really VG10 steel (which I have no reason to doubt) then it should be very durable. I doubt the wood is actually one of the rosewood species, but it is a pretty tropical hardwood. My only criticism is that the handle is a little chunky. Some folks like a beefy handle, but my wife probably won’t reach for this one. I will.

Good knives overall and great value for the price, I ended up ordering all the different styles.
Are you home cook looking for good quality knives at reasonable price? If so try these out. Top of the line professional knives can be several hundred dollars each. Obviously they’re not that level of quality but I’d say they’re comparable to some knives I’ve used that are 3-5x the cost. They are more than adequate for home use.Note: They do hold their edge pretty well but like any knife after enough use will begin to dull some. A standard shapener won’t work well on these, I’ve used ceramic sharpeners (rod) on mine and got good results. I’d imagine a proper sharpening stone would work even better but I don’t own one so can’t say for sure.I first ordered the paring knife. I’ve never been happy with the ones I’ve owned and wanted something higher quality. I also didn’t want to spend too much, it was my first higher carbon steel type knife so figured I’d start with something affordable and could always upgrade later if needed.Was happy with the paring knife, so ordered the utility, then the nakiri. Was very impressed with the nakiri for the price. Almost a year later and it’s still very sharp and I haven’t had to sharpen it yet.Eventually ordered the 5 & 7 inch santoku’s for myself because they were on sale really cheap & later another paring, utility & 5 inch santoku to give as gifts to people who tried them and commented that they liked them. Recently seen the chef’s knife & deba on sale for $15 & $20 & ordered them since the price was so low.They’re all good knifes, sharp, hold their edge reasonably well and look pretty good. As long as you have realistic expectations given the price I think you’ll be happy with your purchase. My favorites are the nakiri-great for cutting large amounts of vegetables, the deba- excellent for fish, poultry or other meats without large bones & the 5 inch santoku which is a good all purpose/utility type knife.

Great Knife
Very sharp, made out of good quality steel. I use it daily and have waited until I sharpened it (to see the quality of the metal) before writing a review. I’m not certain that it’s actual damascus, I suspect it’s laser etched, but it’s still a great knife.
