Proffesional cooks need to discover the Dalstrong Shogun Series knives
I am a restaurant cook in Boston, MA. I have been using Wusthof knives since Culinary school because that is what my chef instructors recommended as the workhorses of the kitchen. I had invested a lot of money in completing a collection of those knives for every task in the kitchen. They are great knives and will last forever with proper care. However, I work at a fine dining restaurant and extremely thin, small, and precise cuts of all kinds of vegetables are a must. I have seen my fellow cooks rave about Japanese brand knives like Shun, Misono,, Miyabi, snd Global and after borrowing and trying them there is no comparison in their superior performancees, so I knew it was time toinvest in new knives. I wanted to get the best value for my money, so for the past two months I have been doing research online about the quality of different types is steel, manufacturing techniques, bevel angels and learned a lot in the process. I research dozens of Japanese brands and compared them, then I happen upon a brand that I never heard before, Daldtrong. I went to their website andread about the Shogun series knives. These knives looked beautiful and by their detail description they seem to have everything I was looking for in terms of quality and sharpness. I told myself it almost look to good to be true, but because of their warranty and the fact that I can try them risk free, I ordered the 9.5 inch chef and the 6 inch utility. When I received the knives, it felt like Christmas. I knew about the beautiful packaging already. But Zi was still impressed. But packaging has very little to do with performance. I immediately subjected botjh knives to the paper test and it was ridiculous how sharp they are right out the box. I took them to work the next day and several cooks came to me as soon as they saw the boxes and knew I have gotten new knives. They loved the way the knives look as much as I did, but the real test was about to happen when I ttried them for the first time with my prep work. It was such a pleasure to use my chef knife, soooo! sharp and balanced that I could breeze thru my prep so effortlessly. I have been using my knife for 4 days in a row, without the need to use my honing steel. Love the knives, high quality, beauty, and performance and a fair price. Very happy with my purchase,Milagros Ruiz

Just like its big brother, only better! (kind of)
This is the little brother of the Shogun 9.5″ chef knife, and while I do love the 9.5″, I really think this knife is more well suited to be your all purpose kitchen knife, let me explain why. The 9.5″ is a fantastic knife, very well made, awesome balance, big enough for any kitchen task… but too big for the average person to effectively use for everything, that’s not the case with this knife. This knife gives you everything that the 9.5″ can, with the exception of the size, this is a positive in most cases as it makes the knife much more handy and usable for pretty much anything you want, you wont miss the extra 2.5″ when doing anything but the biggest cutting jobs, like for example, carving a really huge roast, or cutting a giant watermelon, anything else and you’ll probably be glad to have the smaller knife, its so quick and so handy, I just love it so much. It’s so comfortable too!Just take care of this knife and it will take care of you and it will last forever. It also holds an edge incredibly well, it will almost certainly be the lowest maintenance knife in your house as long as you clean and dry it after you use it.If you’re trying to decide between this knife and some other knife, I gotta tell you, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better knife for this price fit and finish are spot on, exactly as I’ve come to expect from Dalstrong, and if you’re unlucky enough to get a knife that was damaged in shipping or, not up to snuff for some reason (not likely) you get to deal with probably the best customer support in the business.I’d be happy to answer any questions that you might have about this knife as well as I can. Here is the 9.5″ knife mentioned and pictured in my review: https://www.amazon.com/DALSTRONG-Chef-Knife-AUS-10V-Treated/dp/B015NFHU9K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542215438&sr=8-3&keywords=shogun+chef+9.5&dpID=41PHIXHbfyL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

6 year review
This knife lives on my cutting board. I have the Gladiator 8 knife block set also…great knives. I use this one every day for almost everything. It holds an edge well, it’s balanced and not too heavy, and the grip is comfortable for my small hand. It’s more pricey now, but well worth the investment. I would buy it again for sure. ð

These knives are top quality, donât waste money on a cheaper blade as I did previously.. I know this knife will last for years and years.I recommend investing in a good sharpening stone and leather strop to keep that edge!

Well..150 for the 12 inches. Sharp as hell, strong, beautiful. The handle is smaller than I expected, and the knife is lighter too, I’m not a massive fan of the cheap plastic pin in the saya to keep it in place but still I think this is a 5 star knife. It cuts through things like butter and hey that’s what we want a knife for I guess.
