Upscale look and feel!
I have been on the hunt for an all metal, high quality, manual can opener for a long time, and I found it in this opener! It is weighty and expensive looking and has a vintage vibe to it that I love. Most importantly, it operates so smoothly and easily. Do not grip it too tight, it works best with a light squeeze because the blade is super sharp and does not need a heavy hand to work well. I am so happy I found this opener. I think it will last a long time and it looks lovely and high end. I am so happy with this that I am buying more pieces from this Cuisinart alloy metal line.

The Best
You wouldn’t think that it would be that hard to find a decent manual can opener, but this is my third. The first one was flimsy and you could feel the metal flexing while the gear still slipped on the rim. The second, a major name brand, didn’t cut deep enough, and on every can I had to go over spots to cut all the way through. This one is the last I’ll ever own. Sturdy, quality-made simplicity. This is a restaurant-grade tool. You won’t be sorry for the purchase.

Decent Kitchen tool and I’m happy I purchased it
***but that’s the case with almost all my Amazon purchases because I follow the same pattern every time I buy something (see below) I’m happy with it although it didn’t have a bottle opener which I’m sort of used to with my junk can openers. But I can deal with that because this kitchen tool does exactly what it says it can do. It opens my cans every time without slipping off or gripping properly and spinning with no catch. You’ll like it too.I was so frustrated at my can openers that just didn’t work good. So, I did what I do whenever I have those feelings. 1) I go to Amazon 2) I click on the product I need (this time “can opener”) 3) I click on “amazon prime” because I don’t want to waste any time in my search (I want free delivery or I don’t want to order it. 4) I click “only 4 stars or up” 5) I click “sort by customer review” 6) I SKIP over any “promoted ones” and SKIP any products that have very few reviews 7) I also SKIP over any that I can’t afford THEN open the highest rated item (that I can afford) and go straight to “reviews” 8) IF the product has 5% of higher on it’s “ONE STAR” reviews it goes immediately in the trash 9) The first three that have LESS than 5% “one star” reviews go into my cart (PREFERABLY only those with 1% to 3% “ONE STAR” reviews 10) I read the one star reviews to see if all three products have similar complaints and if I can deal with those issues. *If I can – I buy it *If I can’t, I probably still buy it because my current product at home is worse and my process above will at least get me the best one that I can afford

I love my extremely bougie can opener
This is a heavy, shiny, very nice can opener. I had to replace my old, super basic, Goodwill-sourced can opener when the handle broke off, and I like to spend a little extra to get things that seem like they’ll last a very long time. This has no plastic parts, feels solid and well-constructed, and cuts through can lids like butter (although maybe it cuts through can lids like a normal, not-terrible can opener & my last one just conditioned me to expect a struggle, I don’t know). It honestly kind of feels excessively nice for a can opener. I didn’t expect to actually enjoy opening cans, but now I do. Thank you, bougie can opener. As a side note, this thing is actually pretty heavy compared to what I was using before, and it’s definitely not designed with someone with arthritis in mind. I only note that because it seems like a lot of can openers are specifically designed *with* people with arthritis/grip problems in mind. I have no trouble using it, although I think someone with arthritis or grip weakness might find it more difficult to use.

Been struggling to find a good sturdy manual can opener and love that this one is all a single mold handle. Most of the ones I bought in the past would break at the handles. So far so good.

I bought this a month ago because it goes in the dishwasher and probably won’t rust, as opposed to the cheap units you get at the grocery store. It does open cans albeit with difficulty. It sort of rips the paper cover of the can and slides so you have to turn way more to complete the circle around the can.It does however feel very sturday and looks great.
