Got it for my mom – be aware it doesnât come with the strainer
She loves this dang thing and uses it for everything. Where it especially shines, she claims, is despite its large size it boils water in almost half the time any of her other traditional pots do. If you boil water, Iâd say itâs worth it. Get one for your mom, she will love it. But donât be fooled by the pictures, it DOES NOT come with the strainer. It just means you could get a strainer for it from cuisine art, but itâs sold separately. Wack.

After three uses, the enamel has started to fall off of the lid on both the inside and outside where the handle is attached and the pot is rusting on the inside around the rim. I only used wooden utensils and hand washed after each use, storing it on its own (not touching any other pans, plenty of space so it isn’t bumping into other pots and pans). I have other cuisinart products that I am very happy with, I am very surprised and disappointed with the poor quality of this pot. I emailed cuisinart’s customer support regarding this issue as the Amazon return window has closed and have not heard back from them, it has been two weeks. Poor quality product and poor customer service, I will most likely not be buying cuisinart again, buyer beware.

We have made 3 pots of soup already and this pot is great for that. Nice even distribution of heat, really big so we can make a huge amount in one shot so we can have some for the freezer. It seems to clean up really well too – a few of the peas from the pea soup stuck to the bottom but they came right off when washing.

If it slips out of your hand and into a deep sink or the side of the marble/granite countertop, it might chip right through to the centre. Not good, but otherwise if you’re careful with it it does a good job of heating up quickly and retaining that heat. Not easy to clean, even with BarKeeper’s Friend, which is annoying, but not bad overall.
