It works well enough and I was tired of the cheap ones either breaking, rusting or collecting water in the handles. I have not had any issues with this one but i’ve only used it once so far.

Broke after a few months
Seemed like a great can opener at first. Was pricier than others, but I liked that it said it was dishwasher safe. Worked fine, but I did notice that it started to rust in a couple of places and that one of the cutting wheels was cracked. Last night when I was opening a can, it suddenly stopped cutting the can open. I realized that one of the wheels had broken off completely. I ordered this in November, so I expected to get much more use out of it.

Smashes it to Smithereens
I love the Cuisinart brand, and often look to them when purchasing kitchen gadgets. I had a no-name brand garlic press that, while still worked, had some chipping on the handle, and I feared it would eventually end up in the food I was cooking. I knew it ran it’s course, tossed it, and vowed to purchase a new one that wasn’t coated in something that could one day peel and chip. I use this often, and am kinda bummed with it. I feel like my old one did a better job at dispensing actual garlic bits, and not just smashing it to a pulp, which is basically what this does. If I didn’t have one to compare it with, I probably wouldn’t mind it as much, but my no-name brand, ratty garlic press simply worked better.
