Solid & Sharp Knife
It took a while to arrive (which I knew given the shipping estimated date), but the price was far better than any other options I was looking into. I use this knife primarily to cut fruit for my kids, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve washed it several times and it does not rust. It is nice and sharp, and the handle is ergonomically comfortable and very solid. It sounds funny to rave about a knife but I bought a cheaper one to replace my old paring knife, and I hated it! It was so flimsy and just felt off. I would definitely recommend this paring knife. The price point is more than reasonable, and it doesn’t skimp on durability and ease of functionality.

For the price, an excellent paring knife
Kitchen knives come in a wide range of prices and qualities, from the cheapest plastic handled versions with their low-grade steel blades at one end to the finest quality chefsâ knives at the other. Amazon has paring knives ranging from $2.50 to $195.00 (and doesnât carry the most expensive professional knives!).This knife is obviously at the low end in terms of priceâ itâs currently under ten bucksâ but for the price youâll get a surprisingly good kitchen utility knife. The triple rivets holding the handle to the blades ensure a âsolidâ feel, it maintains its edge with minimal touch-ups, and it feels comfortable in the hand.Is it a high quality knife for a professional chef? Of course not. But for cutting apples and mincing the occasional shallot, itâs an excellent knife in the âunder $20â range.

paring knife good
I thought I was getting a great deal, it’s sharp, and like it comes with a protective sheath to protect the blade a real plus, but then I found the exactly the same paring knife on Walmart for one dollar less than Amazon. Bummer! So that’s why l gave it four stars instead of five.

Great survival knife!
Here’s a tip: for 200,000 years a “survival knife” was a bit of sharp flint the size of your thumb. 95% of “survival” happens in the lower inch of your knife. A good, strong paring knife is an ideal tool for what a knife is intended for. This one is one piece solid steel, bolster and all. The grip is solid something. Great knife! May be the best knife, dollar for dollar, that you can buy!

I have been looking for an additional paring knife that is as good as my current knife, made in Japan, bearing the inscription “Diamond Cut” and model 1087-M. The knife I have is a serrated knife, and I use it every day. My efforts to buy another one of equal quality have ended me up with a collection of knives that are very mediocre, until I came across this Cuisinart knife. The Cuisinart knife is not serrated, but very sharp, and comes close to the “Diamond Cut” knife I have. The other thing I like about it is its low price. Once the edge becomes dull, I will have a chance to find out how well it sharpens. So far I have been very pleased.

A sharp not too expensive pairing knife that does exactly what I need.Feels very sturdy and looks nice.Hand wash this to keep it sharper longer. Dishwashers have abrasives in the detergent that will dull a knife faster so you’ll have to sharpen it sooner.Myth: Dishwashers dry at a very high temperature and ruin the metallurgy of a knife. False. They don’t run nearly hot enough to do this. It’s just the abrasive detergent dulling the knife faster.

Knife is very ergonomic and cuts very well for the price. Have not used it for long enough to know if edge will hold up. Had one quality issue as there was a defect (small nick/indent) on the cutting edge closer to the handle. Not going to bother my usage but took off one star for it.
