Nice knives for an excellent price
I guess these are probably not what serious chefs would call good knives, but for me they are going to work just fine and are a big improvement over what I’ve been using. They have a nice feel and weight and are sharp.

Verdict: at this price, this is a total no-brainer. Buy it as a main knife, a gift, a spare, it’s a steal of a deal.This knife is made from a single piece of high quality, mirror finish, high carbon steel. The handle is riveted. This basic design is the same as high end chef knives.The handle is extremely comfortable, and the knife is perfectly balanced.My knife came with a plastic sheath. Since I bought it to take to parties and events, this is perfect.It’s a santoku, but on the long side for a santoku. It’s thin, which it should be, but some people may find it on the light side in terms of weight. If you are used to a shorter santoku, the length takes a bit of getting used to but it also means you can use it as a Chef knife.Out of the box, it was professionally sharpened, unusual for any knife. After a minute with sharpening sticks (Idahone), this knife reached an edge that is as sharp as any name brand Chef knife, and could easily cut a piece of paper. Sharp enough for any kitchen use. The steel is excellent.Because it is a one-piece blade, there is a smooth, seamless transition from the blade to the handle, with no separation which makes it super easy to clean. See photo.There is a slight curve to the cutting edge which allows for chopping or dicing with a rocking motion.There are little dimples, called grantons, which supposedly allow for less sticking, but on any knife these are mainly decorative.Superb in all respects, with the minor caveat that some may prefer a shorter or heavier knife, which is a matter of taste.

Quality look & stiff feel
These Cuisinart knives have a substantial look and feel plus they come with a protection sheath for each. The 6.5″ knife is serrated and both are really sharp. The serration is rather large and to me this is a disadvantage as I like small. Both knife blades are not very flexible and this can be an advantage (or a disadvantage) depending on how you want to use them. I would buy them again but they do not replace my 6″ flexible knife that I have come to love.

Great value set for everyday use
Works perfectly, came already nice and sharp. Great for everyday use. The knives were packaged well and came with protective covers, so even in the drawer they stay nice and sharp. If you want an inexpensive set from a great brand with enough variety to cut, chop and slice everything you’ll make in the kitchen, then this set would be an ideal set for you to purchase. I love that the handles are the perfect size for my hand; not too little, so the end doesn’t jam into my palm, and not too big so I can’t control the knife properly. They aren’t heavy, but they are sturdy, which is also a plus for me. I highly recommend this set to anyone, but it would especially be good for a bride-to-be, or a housewarming gift, or for a young adult who has recently moved out on his or her own.

Makes us forget our Henckels Chef’s Knife!
I bought this knife as a temporary fill-in when our 20 year old Henkels 8″ Chef’s handle needed repairs and couldn’t be happier! It’s wicked sharp for almost every food prep task we needed our old Henckels for, at a fraction of the cost. We find ourselves using this knife 90% of the time, even after our Henckels was returned! Sharpness tunes up easily with a steel sharpening stick. Only negative is the top cuts into my index finger a little on harder foods if I don’t hold it right.

I bought a set of Cuisinart knives many years ago and I really liked them! Not long ago the Santuko knife got damaged and thrown out(forgot about warranty). Unable to find another knife locally I bought a new set of more expensive German made knives.Tho they were good knives they were not any better than my Cuisinart set and not as ergonomic. I found the Santuko knife on Amazon and gave away the more expensive set! CUISINART knives are good quality!
