A nice digital upgrade to a must have cooking device.
To address some one star complaints:1. Plastic smell. Yes there was but there is a lot of plastic involved. Every device that gets hot gives off that smell the first cook. It was gone in about 5 hours cook time. It’s nothing that gets near your food in the crock. If that bothers you then let it heat up hot water for the first 5 hours in the garage.2. Overheating. Didn’t happen. Low was low. My food was edible in 7 hours instead of 8 like my previous crockpots. Perhaps the insulation gives it a little edge in cook time. Pay attention to your settings.I used crock pot liners for the first time. LOVE THEM!!! Wow talk about zero clean up.I pulled the whole bag out into a foil pan and the crock was spotless.The liner was not stuck to the bottom of the crock either. I imagine if the temps were too hot, that would happen.It will be handy to have the sealing lid when I take food to work.The cord wrap is an awesome feature. I hate keeping cords corralled.The controls are basic and easy to figure out. No instructions needed really. Pull out all of the packing and go!

Pricey, but worth it
When I read the reviews on this item prior to purchase it seemed that everyone had received it for free as part of some kind of reviewing service. I am an actual consumer who paid full price and received no extra benefit. I was looking to replace my fifth slow cooker; I use them often and have always preferred the programmable type because the newer models cook on higher temps for food safety reasons. The programming options are very easy and I found it easy to clean. It cooks beautifully and the warming feature after the program has expired is my favorite part. My only observation is the first time I used it there was some odor (probably from the shield unit). But it seemed to dissipate quickly. It is rather expensive, but I since I use it an average of twice a week, it is worth it to me.

Unlike the other folks I did not receive this product free and I still love it. It is easy to use and easy to clean. It doesnât get hit on the outside like other slow cookers. It is more safe to transport than other cookers in terms of external heat and lack of leakage. It has a much larger footprint than other 6 qt slow cookers but I think that is ok to decrease the burn risk of children (or adults!) in the home or at parties. The only thing I would change is the length of the cord. It is ridiculously short. I could barely plug it in on my kitchen island. However I think it is worth the price and I would buy it again. The packaging was not hard to get into when it arrived but is was secure and well padded. To the gal who was looking for a good pot roast recipe:1 sirloin roast (or chuck or rump)4 potatoes peeled and cut in chunks (Yukon Gold hold their shape well in long cooking)4 carrots peeled and cut in chunks2 parsnips peeled and cut in chunks, optGarlic powder or minced garlic to taste, opt1 pkg dry onion soup mix (can be homemade to avoid preservatives and msg/recipes online)Put the veggies on the bottom. Put the (not frozen) beef on top. Sprinkle dry onion soup mix on top. Add freshly ground black pepper.You can add in addition to this 1 jar pepperocini peppers and/or 1 pkg dry brown gravy mix and/or 1 pack dry ranch seasoning (recipes for homemade versions of this also online). Mushrooms could be added. Sweet peppers could be added. Mix it up depending on what you like.

Great investment!
I have had this slow cooker for about 2 months and it was a great buy. I was a little hesitant to buy at first due to a couple reviews saying it got too hot. I did notice the first time I used it, it was definitely hotter than the older one I had but I think it was because I had gradually gotten used to our older one. The outside did not get very hot at all. I can cook more on low when needed that I couldn’t do on my older one because it had turned into more of a warm setting. I love having the timer on this one. I know if I have to step out for awhile that this cooker will go to warming after my timer goes off. This cooker also has the clips on the side so you can lock the top down & secure when taking it to potlucks at church or a friend’s house and never have to worry about it spilling in your car. I am so happy with this buy. I didn’t realize how bad I needed a new one. Love this slow cooker!

Too Hot
This is a pretty bad crockpot, it gets way too hot that it will burn your food. In fact you could fully cook your meal on the Keep Warm setting alone. Not worth the money at all.

Best Crockpot yet
I received this crockpot the other day and last night we made a roast in it. It was so nice and easy to carry it around where we needed it. The food turned out great and washing it was no problem. There are two things that could be a little better: it needs a longer electrical cord so you have better options on where you plug it in and second I would love it if the latches held onto the crockpot itself so you can take it out securely if you wanted to. I do love the fact the the body of the crockpot itself is non – skid but if I want to take the food directly to the the table, I’d rather leave the outside part on the counter and bring just the pot there. Other than that it really is a good device. Well worth the money.

Great for Church Suppers Across Town
I’ve still got baked beans in the carpet in back of my car from a normal crock pot tipping over when a jerk pulled out in front of me on my way to a church supper. Not with this pot. There is some type of surface haze inside the pot that the wifey can’t seem to get out. The metal inside appears to have a hot spot as one area is dark, but the pot does well cooking, timed off, then sets itself to warm. The top latches are what makes it the envy of others at church as it won’t spill when latched. Controls are intuitive and not complicated.

Don’t buy. I’ve had mine for a year and use regularly. The other day the pot crack in several places. The pot sits on a rubber seal and the heat has no place to go, I figure that’s why it cracked.
