I have a set of 3 colanders. They are made out of wire mesh. Every time I use them, one of them will stab me in a fingertip. After a couple of years of getting stabbed, I found this Gulex Colander 304 Stainless Steel 4-quart with Mixing Bowl, and it was a great purchase. First off, No Wire Mesh. This colander is smooth stainless steel with holes drilled into the colander sides and a matching mixing bowl that fits perfectly below it to catch any excess liquid instead of it dripping on the floor. Next, did I mention it was stainless steel? Completely dishwasher safe and no steel mesh to catch little bits of food so it has to be hand scrubbed before placed in the dishwasher. Just rinse, place it the dishwasher and go on with cleanup. Heavy duty, it will not flex when full of hot food. It looks small at first glance. In fact, because it comes in a 3-quart and 4-quart size, I thought I had the ordered the 3-quart when I first saw it. It looks small because it is not wide, but tall. It actually fits in my cabinet with no struggle. I am glad I made the purchase.

Love this bowl and collander. Ive used it to wash fruit and wash rice. Itâs very convenient and makes the rice washing so much easier. Wish i had bought it sooner.

Does not fit in a 6 quart instant pot.
I bought this to go inside my instant pot. If the dimensions were accurate, it should have fit, but it did not. It appears to be good quality and a decent size, but I will probably return and keep looking for my perfect pot in pot.

Our initial experience was that it arrived banged up in shipping, but it was easily replaced. As a whole, I like this set, but I have noticed that this is prone to rust potential. So far I’ve only used it a few times, and I noticed a tinge of rust around a few holes. Make sure you dry it really well before putting it away.
