paring pairing
almost too heavy. balance is good. arrives very sharp. found it matches the cuisinart paring knife almost perfectly. and there is room in the case to carry both the chef knife and the paring knife….which is all I use. that would be a great minimalist pairing as a set. the knife is a tool that functions well enough for me.

A piece of art
What a truly exquisite knife. I feel like it should be left on display rather than used.

Poor quality
I noticed the blade was already chipped upon arrival. It is a nice looking knife, so it’s unfortunate. I’ll have to sharpen it before I can use it.

Reminds me of Mom’s Onolicious Chinese Chicken.
I grew up in Japan and Hawaii so I have fond memories of mom’s incredible chinese chicken recipe that was usually teamed up with onigiri, tamayogaki, a.d some other Onolicious bento magic. So the chicken breast is cut across the bone, and this knife does just that, so it obviously is good for cutting tomatoes, onions or anything else you wanna throw at it.I’m pleased with this knife and the functionality as well as the ergonomic handle. I’ll update this review should there be any durability or other issues.

Awesome value for a very useful knife
The Good:-Full tang-Great for cutting vegetables-Very sharp out of box (basically every knife)-Triple rivetedThe OK:-15CR15Mov German steel (economical, rust resistant, easy to sharpen but not the best edge retention available)The Bad:-NothingThis is a great style of knife to own and probably most comparable to the Japanese nakiri. Itâs not necessary like a chef/santoku or paring knife but once you get a feel for it you may prefer it for most of your vegetables. The flat edge helps get clean cuts through leafy vegetables and it even works as a transfer scoop. They built this guy with everything you could want in the mid-grade knife category. Itâs full tang, triple riveted and even claims the steel type. The German steel it uses is very rust resistant and easy to sharpen; doesnât have the edge retention of more expensive steels but also is much cheaper. Iâd let budget be your guide and realize that this is an excellent value knife in a very useful shape.

Great knife for everything just feels different
The knife is sharp extremely sharp and has a good weight to it. The handle is smooth and doesnât have any odd bumps between the handle to the actual blade. It is versatile and easy to use just keep in mind itâs not a butcher knife. This is my second chinese knife, but I do feel a little bit dissatisfied with the weight distribution and the handle while chopping meat into thin slices and veggie. However this may be my personal preference of using my other knife too long. Being right handed, the knife gives me a wierd feel when chopping veggies at quick speed, it might be the weight distribution of the knife.

Love this cleaver
Trying my best to eat healthier now adays so I end up doing a considerable amount of veggy prep. I have used various chef’s knives for years but never a cleaver. I must admit I have enjoyed using the big dog.. nice heft, balance, and edge. whether mincing herbs or chopping cottage fries this knife is a pleasure to use.
