This is a superb product…
This is a superb product. After some basic research, I decided to purchase this model.It arrived promptly (Amazon at its best) and I was very pleased with the quality of the kettle. This is nice, well thought and well done.The polished stainless steel is easy to maintain and the plastic handle is large enough that you should not easily get in contact with the hot pot.Like me, you will be fooled by the size. Unlike compact cars, this looks much bigger from the outside. What is in fact happening is that the heating element must be quite large as it heats up very, very fast. Consequently, it takes quite a large space at the bottom of the kettle and reduces the capacity of the pot. That said, this is plenty of water, way over a quart, and I never completely filled it up for normal use. Have I mentioned that it heats up very fast ?The base is discreet and the bottom roll-up system for the cord is ingenious and limits the amount of wire on the kitchen counter. The kettle itself has an on and off button and that’s it. Just what you need if you aren’t quite awake yet. If you forget about it, it will stop automatically. Typically, I prepare the water and plug it in. By the time, I am finished preparing the cup with whatever I want to have, the water is already hot. Of course, if you have a full pot, it will take a bit longer.I am very happy with this purchase. I already know that, when it breaks down, I would like another one just like that, but, of course, it will be discontinued by then. If it’s so good, let’s discontinue it⦠Go figure !This is a puzzling maze buying one of those, but you probably will be happy with this model as much as I am.

Good choice
After years of using electric kettles in hotel rooms in Europe and Asia it finally occurred to me that I could buy my own. This one suits my purposes nicely, with a couple of caveats:- I appreciate the “Compact” size since I usually only need a small amount of hot water, e.g., for instant oatmeal or a single cup of tea.- I don’t consider myself paranoid about plastic leaching into the water but I figured I might as well get this metal one since it didn’t cost that much more. That being said, it does have two rubber washers on the inside of the kettle where the handle is connected, so maybe that’s not ideal either.- I like the concealed heating element since the plastic kettles I’ve seen often have badly corroded exposed metal elements, which can’t be good for the water or the heating elements.- It’s nice that it’s cordless.- I’m glad it doesn’t have a mechanism to let you choose the water temperature, since that seems to be the first thing to break with other kettles.- As one reviewer has already mentioned, the top of the handle does get extremely hot. If you touch it for a second it won’t burn you, but it is uncomfortable. You have to hold the handle in a particular way, which is a little annoying.- It does take almost exactly 4 minutes to bring a liter of water to boil. This seems to be slightly slower than plastic kettles I’ve used. Maybe because the metal conducts more heat?

Great for the price
Pros: cute, good value for the money, works great, boils fast. I like the water level window near the handle instead of on the front, bc it makes a sleeker design.Cons: yes it is loud (but that doesnât bother anyone at my house.) The water level window near the handle makes it really hard to see.But these cons are very minimal when you consider how affordable and attractive it is.

Small, efficient, not quite perfect
This sturdy little kettle fit my needs – I had a mini kettle that I liked, but had to be plugged in, therefore was a tad annoying to plug/unplug to pour. This kettle solved that dilemma nicely. It heats up reasonably quickly, hides the heating element inside for easier cleaning, is removable from the base, and has a very nice overall look. I would definitely recommend it to someone in the market looking for a mini kettle.That being said, I must admit there were a couple of things that I would like to point out: First, I’ve noticed that upon boiling, the plastic handle underneath the switch gets almost alarmingly hot – it won’t burn you, but it’s uncomfortably warm, especially when trying to pour the water. Also, a slightly disappointing thing i noticed was that the base isn’t really any smaller than the similarly styled 1.7liter kettles, making it take up just as much space on my counter-top than a bigger one.All in all, though, I found these qualms I have with it to be quite small, and overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. It looks great in my kitchen and it does exactly what I need it to do.

Ideal 1 liter electric kettle
As others have noted, this may be the best of the current crop. We replaced our previously-reliable British brand after 10 years because we read that their quality has sadly fallen off. We make tea and coffee several times every day, but seldom need over 1 liter, so the slightly shorter narrower kettle saves counter space. As a few reviews noted, this smelled like hot electric coating for the first several uses, but it turns out this odor came from the heating element and *not* from inside the water tank. It cleared up completely in a day. The directions suggest discarding the first liter (or two?) of water boiled, and that would probably be adequate. The steel looks moderately thin, and I wouldn’t beat on it with a hammer, but it holds its shape and surface nicely. The fill level gauge beneath the handle works well, so you don’t have to guess at min, max, or in-between amounts, which saves time and energy in boiling the amount of water you want. Best of all, the boil times are fast, and the extra few seconds at full boil insure your water is as hot as possible.
