I Do The Speed Limit –
I like the guards!
When I saw these Carote knives with long blades, I hit the gimme button. I knew a chef’s knife, a bread knife, the santuke and a slicing knife would definitely come in handy when I’m prepping/cooking away from my own kitchen. I immediately though of picnics with watermelons and crusty loaves of bread. I thought of cubing potatoes, onions and bell peppers for a public park grill. It is a great convenience to have knives with their own protective sheath or guard, if you need to carry them around. And these guards fit closely and tightly.I already have several inexpensive knives that have sheaths, but they are shorter, paring or utility knives–nothing longer than a steak knife, (from Zlyiss and Fiskar’s for example). And my experience with those sheathed knives–no matter they are not top quality blades and their sharpness and stability don’t last forever–is that they DO come in handy when I’m prepping and/or cooking away from home.These Carote knives are nice and sharp now–and you can invest in a decent sharpener to keep most of them sharp (except the serrated). They have good balance. They feel sturdy in the hand–even though they do not have a full tang. They are fairly lightweight, so no heavy-duty work. TLC will help keep them from their tips breaking off: No chipping ice, removing bottle tops, bending the blade to work through a melon or tough gourd. And you should use a cutting board with a slight give to the surface–not metal or stone.It’s a very pretty set, too. Eye-catching. But for the price, expendable, so you can leave your expensive blades safely at home.

I wasn’t sure what I would find when getting into the package itself. Happily, the knives came packaged well in a box, wrapped in tissue paper and each knife had it’s own knife guard. The blades are gorgeous. They have a goldish hue to them. The knives are nice and sharp. The handles are comfortable. They didn’t get a 5 star rating because they are not balanced like a professional culinary knife would be, but overall, these are decent knives. Better than what we’ve been using. We’re enjoying how nicely they cut. I’d say you would probably be quite happy with them if you’re looking for a serviceable knife kit and didn’t want to spend a mint on them.THANK YOU AMAZON VINE PROGRAM!!!

Pretty and Functional
Ok, so I love the fact that these knives are gorgeous. The gold and cream colors on this set make them look incredible. The blades are sharp and precise, easily cutting through meat, veggies and cheeses. These knives have a cushion like feeling making it feel secure in your hands, even when cutting with wet hands. The material on the handle keeps your hand securely in place without slipping like plastic or other knife sets. They come with matching sheaths for each knife making them easy to store in a drawer or caddy. This could literally sell for double the price for the quality.

Carote is known for its quality cookware at reasonable prices – This knife set is no exception – The knives are very sharp, nice looking, and have comfortable handles – At the price point this knife set is a must have for your kitchen.

The knives are consistent with the Carote brand — I like the handle resin material, similar to their cookware. The blades are nice, though not sure how durable the serated edges will be. For less than $30 (using the coupon), it’s a good value.

The knives are not only incredibly sharp, they are absolutely beautiful. The material used on the handles is firm but also buttery soft and easy to grip, which means easy on the hands. The blades themselves are strong and sharp. I am very happy to have these in my kitchen!

Six Knives – Super Sharp
This CAROTE 6 piece Kitchen Knife Set (with 6 sheaths for a total of 12 pieces) is beautiful and functional. The blades are sharp and sliced right through a tomato with ease. It has a lovely Nonstick Gold Surface. Looks great on my magnetic knife bar.
