Great for baking sourdough bread
Iâve never liked that my sourdough bread would get very toasted from the bottom when baking it in the Dutch oven. This fits perfectly well at the bottom of the Dutch oven, and the bottom of my bread doesnât get dark/burned. Great product.

I had one of these for many many years until it finally gave out. I love it because it sits just high enough for a shallow pan which is great for roasts and the such and when you do not want what youâre cooking sitting directly in the dish.

I like to salt steaks top and bottom, let them sit for a few hours in the fridge then sous vide or cook in the oven for a reverse sear occasionally. This lets air get to both sides of the meat in the fridge and oven, plus the salt does not affect the metal, thus the meat.

Does Not Rust (Yet)
My previous round cooling rack in this size had rust spots at every intersection. So did my small square ones, especially as I use those as vertical braces for silicone baking mats in the dishwasher. I found new nearly identical square ones from another maker and this round one from Campingmoon. The new square ones had rust spots after ONE run through the dishwasher.This one, however, has been through the wash many times (I use it to cool seared steaks, then toss it in the dishwasher) and remains gleaming all over. Plus it’s sturdy and thick. If Campingmoon made 10″x10″ square ones like this I’d buy a pair in a heartbeat. I can’t say it’ll never rust but it’s doing great so far.
