Silverware is nice at a reasonable price.
Nice smooth wood to the touch. Metal is a little on the light side but still feels nice in the hand. Hopefully the quality will last and the wood will not come apart from the metal.

Decent Entry Level Stainless Steel Flatware with Plastic Faux Wood Decoration on the Handles
This review is for the CAMBRIDGE Flatware Set (Style – Esben, Size – 20-Piece Setting for Four). I received a free taxable sample of this flatware set to review in my search for a flatware set I could take with me to picnics. The flatware set arrived in a branded and decorated open display box which can be gifted wrapped within gift wrap or placed within a gift bag. Inside the box were warranty and care instructions along with 20 flatware pieces representing four complete settings of a dinner knife, dinner fork, salad fork, dinner spoon, and teaspoon. The pieces are made of a generic type of stainless steel to which plastic faux wood overlays have been glued onto both sides of the handle. The overall weight and feel are a bit lightweight and standard with the dinner fork (8 ¼â length, 35 grams) and salad fork (7 â â length, 23 grams) coming in at about half the weight of a premium set. The dinner spoon (8 â â length, 46 grams) and teaspoon (7â length, 31 grams) are about two-thirds the weight of a premium set while the knife (9â length, 34 grams) is the relatively lightest piece at one-third the premium weight. There is an interesting look to this set with the mix of stainless steel and wood-patterned plastic overlays, and I like how the plastic overlays are smaller than the flatware handles so that thereâs an edge of polished metal around the handles. That being said, the workmanship is okay with decent quality polished stainless steel, but there are some instances where the plastic overlays arenât exactly centered on the handle. There is no branding on the flatware, and the only lettering is country of origin and the number 21 on the bottom of each piece. This set has been nice to pack away in a picnic basket or cooler bag to use with picnic lunches and outdoor parties. There have been no durability or breakage issues, and care and maintenance have been fairly straightforward. The care instructions state that this set is dishwasher safe, but I have been washing these items by hand because Iâm concerned that the plastic will eventually separate from the stainless steel. All in all, this is a decent flatware set with an interesting design that uses plastic faux wood. I recommend this as a nice option for entry level flatware that you can use at home or take with you to picnics and outdoor meals.

A Little Lightweight, Not Sure About Those Glued On Handles
They look a little cheap. They’re not as sturdy as I’d hoped. The metal is fairly light; I prefer flatware with more heft. If I was just starting out in my first apartment, this set would be fine. It’s a toss-up. I will continue to use this set, as they’re fine for everyday use, but I’ll put them away when company comes over. I mentioned the handles in the headline. Some of the “wood” pieces are cocked just a hair, and that leads me to believe that these are assembled hastily and under less than strict quality control standards.

Solves headaches caused by my old flatware, for RV use.
I’m a cheap skate living in a Van down by the River (motorhome, ocean), and I have NEVER been particularly fond of fancy table settings… probably because I had to use silver polish on ours way too often as a child. Ugh! So in my motorhome, I’ve been using dollar store flatware, which I find is too coarse and heavy. The added weight matters most when I’m washing dishes in the sink, and because of lack of counter space in an RV, I need to keep the silverware in the plastic dollar-store bowls which are my mainstay microwave, serving, and storage containers. They fall over and spill the flatware all over the floor, into the trash, and onto my bare feet (ouch!)… I can’t wear socks or shoes, due an unusual neuropathy. Grrr… expletives deleted.Earlier, I ordered a different, more stylish set for four which included steak knives, because I wanted the knives. I don’t care for their frilly Early American place setting pieces, at all. But the style of the Cambridge set under review fits my taste (minimal though it may be), with a more appropriate modern look which mates with my RV decor, right down to the tone of ‘fake wood’ both the flatware and RV woodwork employ. Then there is the better feel in the hand… plus solving the weight problem.Likes: good looking, comfortable feel, light weight, easy. to clean. Great value! I am particularly pleased with the knives, which most reveal the weight advantage. I really enjoyed giving the old ones away to the thrift store.Dislikes: The spoons have a different curvature and shape than I am used to… but I’m sure I’ll get used to that and not even notice it after awhile, and find the old ones odd. And, the difference means they hold more (soup?) than the old ones, so I shouldn’t be complaining. Ignore me.

Really lovely design and feel!
Elegant clean modern classic! This flatware is really lovely. Clean smooth lines and an earthy beechwood handle accented with silver are perfect for a nice dinner party or everyday use. They have a balanced weight to them in your hand. And they wash up nicely.
