Here are the actual, measured, dimensions of 4 qt. Fits perfectly in Cuisinart 6 qt French 3ply pot.
I knew the measurements given here couldn’t possibly be correct for the 4 quart pot, given that I have a Cuisinart 6 qt. 3-ply French-series stockpot (bought here on Amazon of course) and know that one’s dimensions. I bought this partly to find the actual size! 🙂 But I love the pot too. Pretty much the similar 4 qt. version of the 6 qt. Cuisinart French pot (Cuisinart doesn’t make that one in 4 qt., hence this pot). Here are the actual measurements. The height of this 4 qt. from base to top is exactly 5.0″. The inner diameter at the top is 7 7/8″. The inner diameter at the bottom, just before it starts to curve into the base, is 7 3/4″. This is common with nearly all pots, in my experience, since during manufacture they need to get the extrusion die out! Top has to be a tiny bit larger than the bottom. The top measure is a little tricky. The very top 1/4″ of height flares (curves) outward at the edge. The Top ID measurement ^^^ is just before the flare. Actual top edge to edge diameter, after the flare, is 8 3/8″. The flat base of the pot bottom after it curves, with the pot turned upside down, (the burner contact flat surface) is 6 1/4″. This is perfect for the smaller burner on our electric coil burner cooktop (they are 5 7/8″) and our 120Vac induction hot plate which produces the same power level. The 8 1/2″ diameter stainless lid sits on top of this edge (1/16″ overhang all around), then has a 1/4″ dip in the middle to fit inside the pot’s edge flare. The lid has about 1/16″ of movable play in all directions when on the pot, as would be expected. Both pots are fairly heavy, as 3-ply pots. Heavier even than similar-sized all-steel (single ply) pressure cooker pots. 🙂 Is ok though! Quality pots. I’m glad they both have stainless covers rather than glass. Too many comments about glass covers on various pots shattering at unexpected times. And finally a happy discovery. This 4 qt. pot fits *perfectly* into the 6 qt. Cuisinart French Series 3-ply stock pot (NOTE! NOT the “Multi-clad Pro” 6 qt. Cuisinart, the French series is also 3-ply clad but a few more $) for stacked storage! The handles on this pot sit on the top edge of the 6 qt. The handle rivets of this 4 qt. have about 3/16″ clearance to the sides of the 6 qt. pot and don’t scrape at all (no force fit) when the 4 qt. pot goes in and out. At least this is the case with the specific 4 qt. Breville and 6 qt. Cuisinart pots I have. Both pots cook wonderfully! The 6 qt. is a perfect fit for the large 240Vac electric coil on the cooktop – and really does need that extra 2.5x power (vs the small burner or 120Vac induction) to heat the larger 6 qt. amount of water or food vs. 4qt.The measured capacity is just a tiny bit over 4 quarts, exactly as advertised. See the attached photos. Like all pots, the listed/advertised capacity is *to the very brim*, just to the point of spilling over. I guess the manufacturers do it that way for apples-to-apples comparisons to other pots, otherwise at what level would you measure? I used a brand new gallon (4 quarts, of course) of bottled water and poured it in. From the photo you can see it came up to within 1/16″ of an inch of the very top, as expected. Some pots won’t even give you that extra 1/16!” Pretty impressed here. So with any pot the “useful” capacity (unless you are simply storing something and have very steady hands, lol) is maybe 1/2 quart less than listed for simmering or 1 quart less for a rolling boil, to keep the water from slopping out. If you need more “useful” capacity, go to a bigger pot. Like the Cuisinart French Series 3-ply 6 qt. here on Amazon, that I have. Love that pot too.Interesting note from the box on the origin of the product. Seems to be a company in California, licensing the Breville name from a company in England (very common these days – Sunbeam, Bell and Howell, Hamilton Beach – lots of things are brand-licensed from companies popular in years past) and then actually made in Taiwan. Which is great! Some of the highest quality “things” I have these days (tools, electronics, etc.) are made in Taiwan. I look for that now. All just IMHO, your mileage may vary. 😀 Happy cooking!

Fancy and high quality small pot
I got this around the holidays priced around $110 and best deal anywhere. This was a splurge for me and will last me a lifetime of cooking. I was looking for a stainless steel pot and this fit my needs right as I was looking for something smaller than my 8qt stock pot but larger than my 2qt pot. The lid and pot has a nice weight for me and fits right into my oven too. The handles on the side do not get hot and the lid is heavy enough that when you are boiling high temps, other than steam no noise or splattering of any kind shoots out everywhere and onto stovetop and floor. I’ve made chili, stew, boiled and mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, pasta, etc. it is a good size pot for a couple or small family. The handle on the lid doesn’t get too hot but you do need a towel or mitt as the lid is hot, just a tip. A universal pet peeve of mine nowadays rivets/screws from the handle are noticeable and is a pain to wash and scrape down. In my old pots there are no rivets in the inside so its seamless and you can scrape down pot well.

Good quality and size for 1-2 people
Great quality and size for 1-2 people. The bottom did discolor the first time I used it, but I have very minerally well water so that didn’t really surprise me. I really like having the two side handles on a small pot, rather than a single long handle like small pots this size normally have.

    Quality product
I have not used the Breville sauce pan yet. It looks to be of good quality, although had not expected it to be this heavy. For this reason was glad for my choice of two handles. The con is the advertised size of 4 quarts, when it only holds 3.5 quarts!

    Great pot with lid
I own this pot for a few months now, and I am very happy with it. It is sturdy and well made, a perfect size for soups or to cook rice for a family of 4-5. It is easy to clean and will last for many years.

    Poor cleaning in dishwasher
My very old 4 qt. Farberware pot fell apart recently. After reading so many reviews, I decided on this Breville 4 qt. pot. It’s heavier than my Farberware, which is a good (sturdy) and bad thing (heavy to lift and pour with one hand). It looked perfect. I used it for the first time last night with a steamer insert to steam vegetables. Simple. No big deal. Put it in the dishwasher, and it came out like the photo. So disappointing. My old Farberware looked new and shiny for the longest time, and one time in the dishwasher resulted in white marks and rings where the water level was when cooking. Also note that we have soft water on both cold and hot lines, so there is especially no reason for this marks to occur after one use. We also have a Breville toaster oven which cooks beautifully, but it is the ugliest item in our kitchen. You can’t clean it properly. The metal has marks all over it that you can’t get off. Breville tells you not to use this cleanser or that. But it looked so bad that I tried Barkeeper’s Friend on it. It took off some of the finish. This metal is not easily cleanable, whether it the oven or the pot. I know it’s made in China, but I thought Breville would have better quality than this.

This is a 3 quart pot, not a 4 quart pot.
I bought this to replace a pot that has measurements on it up to 4 qt. Dummy me, I assumed that meant I was replacing a 4 qt pot. However, when I received it, I noticed this pot was much smaller than the 4 quart pot I was replacing. Then I noticed that the measurements in the pot only go up to 3 quart. Be honest people, this is really a 3 quart pot. Yeah I guess if you fill it to the absolute very top, you might get close to 4 quarts in it, but that’s not how cooking works. You can’t realistically cook 4 quarts worth of liquid in this. They are being deceptive and they know it.

Product: Breville 32068 Thermal Pro Clad Stainless Steel 8 Quart Stock PotDelivered: Mar 15, 2024Location: Calgary ABWe were seeking to purchase a good hybrid pot for making cream based sauces and soups at a reasonable price. This Breville Pot is constructed with Tri-Ply clad material features a layer of aluminum sandwiched between stainless steel and heavy duty, impact bonded warp-resistant base. Initially the pot was outside of our budget, but on sale it was within our budget. We have other small appliances made from Breville (toaster and kettle) and were happy with its performance. We were anticipating that this brand of pot would exceed our expectation and it has.Use over the past 7 months: The pot with the thick bottom avoids having a cream or heavier starch (such as beef barley soup) ladened liquids stick to the bottom. The thicker sides helps to retain heat for even temperature throughout the pot.Pro’s:• Very well constructed• Holds up well on day-to-day use for a family of 5• Easy to cleanCon’s:• None at the moment

Was going to buy Al Clad but couldn’t get past the price point. So bought Breville instead. Started with the large 8qt pot first and loved it. The curved edges are great for storing. Even heat distribution too. So bought the rest. Heavy, holds heat very well, and love the measurements on the inside. Very happy with the purchase.

The Breville Pots and Pans are great on the gas range, but unfortunately, they have flaws. The handle is comfortable but does not have a grip, and it is fixed to the pan with rivets, which makes cleaning the inside of the pan very difficult around the rivet heads. This problem could be fixed by attaching the handle differently.
