Quiet and just the right size
The loud sounds of our old microwave might be an odd reason to have replaced it, but everything was so noisy! The button to open the door made a clunky sound, the door closing went, ‘CHANK!’ and every use ended with lots of beeping. This little oven does none of that. Even if you try to slam the door closed, it will gently (and quietly) close the door. What a relief! This oven is small but perfect for everything I need to do: A full-sized dinner plate fits fine, even a half-gallon of ice cream fits. I’ll never microwave a turkey, so the size is great. The front controls are intuitive and easy to use. I wish we’d gotten this oven years ago. Perfect.

Excellent microwave
After my 13 yr old Panasonic Inverter microwave died recently, I immediately purchased another. I had read reviews and trusted the appliance after having a good experience with my old one. It was HORRIBLE! I wonât list the details. It certainly wasnât made up to the standards of the old Panasonic. I decided to return it. Because I loved my Breville Smart Mini toaster oven, I ordered this Breville microwave. I am beyond thrilled with it. Besides looking svelte, it is QUIET! The buttons and knob are simple to use. I prefer them to a touchpad that is sometimes difficult to read and doesnât recognize my touch. The soft close door is a joy. The Breville does not move around on the countertop just from opening or closing the door. Though I havenât used all the cooking options, the Breville cooks well. It hasnât yet reheated an entree to the consistency of cardboard. Every day this Breville microwave makes me happy! (I rarely review my purchases. I felt I had to praise this appliance.)

I Love this Microwave
My Mini-600 Watt .5 cu ft microwave died after 20 years, so I was initially looking for a cheap $70 dollar-range microwave to replace it, but when I saw this I knew this was exactly what I needed, and it was definitely worth the extra money. First, I LOVE the way it looks, it’s modern and clean looking and fits in my kitchen perfectly. The 2nd thing I love is the dial/knob to set the time, turn gently right and it starts at 30 seconds, and you can dial in any exact time within seconds, or just press the green button to add 30 second increments. The 3rd thing I LOVE is the ability to MUTE ALL BEEPS with a simple press of the mute button. This stays activated until you un-mute it, or you unplug it. The 4th thing I love is the quiet-door-close. I love how gently and quietly it closes, and it’s actually a very pleasing noise. Makes it seem high-end. The 5th thing I love is how easy it is to change the POWER-LEVEL, from 100% and step-down in 10% increments. This is a new feature for me and I love being able to very gently microwave things with reduced wattage. The Microwave is very powerful and heats foods really well and evenly. I definitely recommend this microwave.

So easy to use
My old GE microwave died and I rushed out to buy a replacement. I shouldn’t have rushed. The new one had a touchpad that was not very responsive – I had to really press hard. It also had a button to open the door instead of a handle. More importantly, it would trip the circuit breaker if I used my coffeemaker or air fryer at the same time. After two weeks, I gave it away and ordered this Breville. It has a dial, which is so much better than a keypad. The soft close door with a handle is great. Importantly, I can use my air fryer or coffeemaker at the same time. One little nitpick – I have to be careful when I take a dish out of the oven so I don’t dislodge the glass turntable. It’s smaller than my previous microwaves but it’s big enough for my needs.

Nice compact microwave.
This microwave is a space saver and stylish to look at. It is very intuitive to use. The only thing I don’t love about it is the turntable seems to be too easy to get off the track.

Just what I wanted
I was looking for a quiet closing microwave to replace our cheap and noisy one that moves all over the place when you try to pull it open or have to slam it closed. This is the only soft close I found. Some of the reviewers said it didn’t last long so I hesitated for a couple months. But I kept coming back to it and when the price dropped from $250 to $213 I decided to take a chance. We’ve only had it for a few days but it is compact, solid, and oh so quiet. The soft close and gentle open are everything. The interior light is bright and overall it looks sharp and cooks well. I’m glad we replaced our Hamilton Beach with this. We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m loving it right now.

Sent the Breville BMO650SIL1BUC1 back because:
The Breville BMO650SIL1BUC1 has plastic or vinyl covered buttons that deteriorate rather quickly such as the ones shown on our Cuisinart food processor which I put a photo of above. I will NEVER buy another appliance with those style buttons again.Interestingly enough however.. I also have taken issue with noisy door closing systems on microwaves. Also the plastic wear out requiring you slam the door in order for the mechanism to fully latch so the unit will work. Kudos to Breville! I was willing to spend $100 more to get that soft close feature! AND the muting button so I can use the unit early in the morning without waking my wife. Thank you Breville. Now incorporate those features into a 1200 Watt full sized oven (that I couldn’t find anywhere)! Now about Amazon. Why oh why does Amazon compose a list of return reasons for which none of them apply? Please.

Best Microwave ever!
Love the ease of use of this microwave and best of all, no annoying buzzer when the cycle is done. One button to power on, and you can easily adjust the time by turning the knob instead of having to push so many buttons. The time for one cup and to reheat are perfect, no need to correct. It’s a bit pricey, $250 for a microwave but it sure delivers. If these things are impoirtant to you, go for it. You won’t be sorry you did.

Breville microwave has the most intuitive/friendly and smart control panel (as it should be). I love it.

This microwave is actually attractive. I donât have a shelf or an overhead area in my kitchen to put in the microwave so I put it on a wooden kitchen cart. You can turn the sound off on this microwave so itâs super quiet. It works perfectly. itâs unobtrusive and modern looking, anything Iâve ever bought from Breville is great

Attractive and works well. Soft close doors are fun.

I recently bought this microwave for my home. I really like the soft close door and ability to turn off all sounds. Itâs easy to use and is well designed. Build quality is very high as youâd expect at this price point. Overall Iâm very happy with it.
PS –
I like the smaller size of this microwave. However, buyers should know that the power is considerably less than larger microwaves. For example, our old microwave took one minute to re-heat a cup of coffee, whereas this small model takes 2 minutes. Otherwise, it’s a good microwave.
