We gifted this dutch oven/bread pan to our daughter who loves baking sourdough bread. She LOVES it! It’s really cute and does a great job cooking sourdough bread. Up until recently, our daughter has been using a big 6 qt dutch oven for her breads, so I was a bit concerned that this would be too small. I needn’t have worried. Yes, this 5-qt vessel is smaller than the 6-qt one she was using before–but her loaves (approx 900 g) fit fine in this dutch oven–and an added bonus is that now she can fit this dutch oven along with another 5-qt dutch oven in the oven at the same time, saving on cooking time. Another worry I had was that the grooves on the bottom of the pan would make weird indentations in the bread loaves–my daughter uses parchment paper and said that helped it so those grooves aren’t a concern for her. All in all, I’m really happy we got this dutch oven.

This thing is perfect for making a great, crispy, golden sourdough loaf. And it is just a gorgeous piece to have on hand.Be very careful with what you use to clean the glaze. Barkeeps friend was too strong for it. Baking soda looking like only alternative. Oil from when I seasoned it stained the glaze, and barkeepers friend dulled it pretty badly.
