After 2 months, no sign of chipping or cracking, and we put them in the 3rd rack of a dishwasher to clean. It’s worth purchasing as an addition to a set bought separately. The types of tongs that come in the wooden or bamboo sets are more like oversized tweezers. My only disappointment is that they are very stiff on the release to open them. I’m assuming that it will get better with use. Make sure you hand wash them. Wood doesn’t like the dishwasher.
